Question to experienced men for Navara install

Postby Kasey » December 25th, 2013, 5:25 pm

Want to replace my stock speakers (6x9 and 6") with something very powerful. Anyone know if 8" can fit with no mods or limited mods? And if so, what's the most powerful 8" neos that you have experience with? Not looking for subs eh. Also anyone with experience with very powerful 6" also?

Both the front and rear doors can hold 8" PA grade speakers.I have managed to fit the 18sound 8" there already with not clearance problems.

On the better side, for the sake of midbass and lower mid, I would recommend the b and c 8ps21 in a properly dampened door or the 8NW51.

But, all this makes no sense if you don't power it properly, and it would take a rather large amplifier to do so.

^^thanks for the offer, but really wanted opinions of installers who would give a variety of options, not one brand only. South side, what about the 6" in the back? Can a different size speaker fit there? Or only 6"? Have not yet gotten the opportunity to open up the doors to do my own investigation.

Anyone have pics of inside the Navara door with different speakers mounted?

the rear doors are limited to mounting dept of 4" with a 3/4" spacer ring, and with some interior trim removal, you can easily fit up to 1.25" of spacer ring, giving you an extra .5" clearance

there are high output car audio/pa hybrid speakers available now, with shallow mounting depths that can easily fit, without trim modifications

If you're interested in non PA type speakers and would prefer something high end, take a look at Hybrid Audio Technologies. They have 6x9 component speakers that would make your life a lot easier.
