Help, subwoofer moving without music playing

Postby marlonmrmusic » June 6th, 2013, 3:00 pm

Recently changed my amp, its a mmats 2000.1, driving a 1 ohm load, and the sub is kinda trembling up and down randomly about 1-2mm but the music sounds normal. At louder volume, not really noticeable. Just wanna know what this might be with the amp. Or if it will damage sub etc.

Sounds to me like a bad capacitor or transistor in the amp, or maybe further up the chain. To confirm, unplug the inputs from the amp. If the "trembling" continues, then there's something wrong with the amp.

thanks for the input guys, it turned out to be my crossover left sub channel being faulty, tried different jacks, gain, etc. sub is much more tight now.
