Help with Honda EK3 sedan install!

Postby Keegs » January 3rd, 2013, 4:09 pm

I have a honda civic 2000 model. Im a complete novice when it comes to car audio. Got a budget of like $4K. Is it possible to get a decent sounding setup and what do i need to buy if so :?

Very easy to have a nice system for that price.

What do you want out of the system? Just a small knock or something to lime with?

Do you have a aftermarket deck or any existing equipment?

Got some interesting pm's. Well i dont want something extremely loud but something i cud play riding around that would catch an ear still. If it cud start a small lime, that would be nice. Would love info on things like subs and mids to kinda understand why x wont work with z if u know what i mean.

I have noooo previous equipment just stock speakers that came with the car when i bought it from someone. Gonna buy a new head unit thou that should cost like 1200-1300

well with the budget u have if thats not including the deck.

u can get a nice pair of 6" components for the front, a pair of 6" loudspeakers for the rear a sub for the trunk and a 5-channel amp. for $4000. ( some nice budget brands are soundstream, powerbass, pioneer, etc)

buy a deck that has 3 pairs of rca outputs (4v if possible) this will eliminate the need for a preamp. so u can go from the deck direct into the amp with no splitting of the signal.

Even if, a pair of y splitters won't hurt

But at $1200 I'd expect it to be a fairly moderate deck :|

true it wont hurt much. Pioneer DEH-P7400HD this sells for $12-1300 on tuner and has ipod conection, 6 (3 pairs)-4v output rca's, bluetooth etc.

jus trying to help the op to make good choices.
