How important is your head unit selection if you have very good processing behind it?? eg. dqxs or rockford 3sixty.2

imo : very important !

u dont chinks at this stage at all since d way everything sounds depends on it ...

That will work great. Ensure you leave all the bass boosts / loudness controls off.. I hate those settings on Pioneer headunits..

If you are using the EQ in your external processor, then leave the 7 band EQ on the deck set to flat.

^^i agree thats a preety good quality deck and will work well with god processing.
