when u say 6.3 have you factored in wood thickness and port displacement
of so it should work

in a case of a van, you can go two routes-

1. big port, big box - average 2cuft per speaker, after displacements

2. small port, high compression - average 1.6cuft per speaker after displacements

the correct box will lie in the acoustics of your vehicle

imo, in a case like this, opt for 2 higher end subs, same power with a well designed box, and go strong

recommened higher end lines(given budget of $2500 per sub,ie price of 2 1510s)

sundown audio sa-10
rockford t1 10
re audio sx 10
treo ssp
mmats p3 10
audiopipe candy cone 10's (surprisingly one of the better sounding 10's here)
t3 audio t1000
ground zero hydrogen line
dd 2500 lines
incriminator audio lethal injection
mtx 7500

i understand what you say south side . but 4 subs will look real cool in the back of my van and i think 4 10" subs will beat 2 10" subs. going with the fact that both boxed a built to spec and mainly because of cone surface area correct me if i'm wrong i'm new to this.

more cone area doesnt always necessarily mean better

2 10s in proper cuft & port with sufficient power will give 4 10s in a undersized box a run

how cooler wud it be if a guy comes with 2 subs & beats ur 4 , i like d "less is more" theory

if space is limited u cud even compromise & do 3 10s comfortably fit rather than squeeze in 4 ...

surface area is one thing, but whats the point of fighting to fit 4 lower powered 10's in an undersized box, versus 2 higher powered 10's in a proper box, when the 2 10's can beat the 4?

if you would like proof come and make yourself available, i will be glad to give a demo of 1 10
