NAVYNUCXP wrote:So reading through this post I just have to put my 2 cents in. I agree with the statement that the Kickers burning easy. I found this site trying to do a comparison with the L-7's and the MTX TS8512-22. I am currently running 2 12" 08 L7's dual 2 ohm vc's in 3 cubic feet total, they are wired series on the voice coils, parallel to the amp giving a 2 ohm load to the amp, I am powering them with a kicker 08 zx1500.1 which puts out 1604 rms according to the certificate that came with it. I have in the 90 days since I put it all together blown 2 speakers and have to keep getting them replaced. I have been into car stereo and setting up systems for 15 years now and have NEVER blown a sub before and it is irritating that I blow 2 in the span of 90 days. The subs say that power handling goes up significantly when you use a sub sonic filter which my amp has set at 25hz. So according to the specs off the subs, running 2 of them should require 1500 rms? So they are not getting overpowered.... why are they blowing...? So I am thinking of going to the mtx now.
