Eclipse UCNV884

Postby Pirate » November 2nd, 2009, 9:56 pm

Yo has anyone had any luck unlocking the Eclipse UCNV884. I got it in a Roll On Roll Off and from my reading, as long as it loses power, it requires a special CD to unlock.

Any help will be appreciated.

PS: I searched the topic and no one provided a working solution...just hoping there is one

think that's a safety feature in case it gets stolen. you are supposed to be able to use the cd as a "key" to open the deck. hopefully it hasn't been changed from the original.

you could try this:

http://translate.google.tt/translate?hl ... o%26sa%3DG

only found the russian site, but you may be able to get another

oh and what vehicle did it come out of? might be able to track it via that as well

Yeah I know its a safety feature, and I saw that site. The problem is the payment and communication...
Since it is a CD, I was hoping it could be downloaded... :-|

Its in a Subaru, but its also found in a few other cars as well.

There must be someone who got it to work!

the cd is specific to each deck
in the cda5000
it is actually just a music cd that you put in as the lock "key" if the hu is locked you have to put in that same exact cd and it releases the lock

yeah but there must be a way to reset it without the CD.
There must have some CD from Eclipse to reboot it.
the website firewall posted has something but the language barrier and payment is ah scene.

OK i got some information that will be useful to other members looking to unlock their "foreign used" decks.
There is a business, close to Grand Bazaar that does unlocking using the BOOT DVD. He has a wide assortment of DVDs that can be used to unlock alot of the pioneer, Elcipse and other decks.

In my case however, he needs a newer version of the software. So presently i'm stuck.
He says he will try and get the newer version...not sure about the time frame.

:)

well after paying to get it unlocked, there is no DVD playback, only plays CD-Audio (no mp3) and has no RCA outputs.

so given these facts, its up to the user if they want to get it unlocked and get a touch screen cd player. There is TV support, but that requires another module = more money and to watch what TV6...

I called this same guy too.. he seems to know what he's talking about. The initial unlock (u will need one if u disconnect ur battery for more than 8 secs) cost $350, any subsequent unlocks -its cheaper. Seems there are about 3 versions of 884, the 884, 884RE and 884mk11, some have tv, some dont. The unlocking process doesn't convert the japanese to english, but allows u to set ur radio stations. The DVD port is for loading maps, NOT entertainment. If u want to hook up an external DVD drive, the Eclipse screen has fantastic resolution. So, see if its worth the trouble. I think it is- Until I can replace the whole damn thing!
Good luck!

This has been covered numerous times before and the end result is basically that it cannot be converted to english. Most users just buy an aftermarket unit afterwards.
