driver problem

Postby azeem » June 1st, 2009, 6:11 am

hey guys

i have a pair of components and recently the left channel's driver has been giving crackling noises, but only at full volume during bass tones. the right driver does not have this problem. i switched speakers and the speaker from the left side continued to crackle when placed into the right door.

anyone knows what happened to the speaker?
and if can be fixed?

thanks

if your door speaker isn't completely sealed from the elements the coil/magnet assembly probably got wet and foreign material was introduced into the magnetic gap (eg sand, road grit, etc)

remove the speaker
turn it over in your hands and crack the magnet 2-3 hard slaps then lightly shake it..see if this helps your problem
