Bass recommendations please..

Postby DJ Q » September 7th, 2007, 10:21 pm

So i want to get some hard pong in meh ride but i eh kno what bass to run jed... as casper already knows... i'm going to get 4 8" eminence w/2 bullets and some high end pioneer/premier deck (most likely from rovin) but i not sure what bassline to run jed..

i want about 1000 - 1200rms for bass but i not sure if i want 1 12", 2 12", or 2 10".

Further, i want them in sealed boxes (for accurate response) or in a fiberglass mechanism in d trunk (how much da does cost?)

please ppl, recommend stuff, brands to me.

PS: just the sub(s)

it will be better to go either the two 10"s or two 12"s route.. more cone area = nice deeper / louder bass..

since you choosing DJ mids for your ride, why go sealed?? I'd recommend you arrange with Rovin and take a listen to his boxes (which he has for sale!).. then decide if sealed is really the way you want to go..

once u want to listen to music Inside ur car then d 4 6x9s will be plenty loud (even 1 pair can work good too) - but if ur style is to park up by d bar or doublesman & have ur car blasting 4u to hear it a distance away then situation calls for d eminence etc
....but i trying to keep u listening to loud yet clean full spectrum music

anytime u in chaguanas come & hear d 4 10s yet all i have is 1 pair of 6.5" coax in d front doors running of about 50wrms each & a pair of 6.5 coax in d rear doors running off jes d deck power alone - i guaranty u even dat even with a ripping bassline u can comforatbly sit in my wagon & hear everything cleanly at a high volume .....

had 2 of those 12" type R (see d pic on my subs thread-had in it d pair of black boxes too) 1 of my fav subs since anything u put dat sub in it used to perform ...even 1 of dem 12s in a 1cuft sealed box used to shake yet never distorts ...if u can afford it then by all means buy it ....u wont need more than 2 12s ...

u should also look into d DD subs since triple R take over d dealership d prices have dropped alot & its now affordable ....only $1000 for d 500wrms model .... .....& u know when DD say '500' u can power it with an amp rated double dat if u know what u doing ......

and have a sensitivity of 98db

das d 15"?
i doubt that cud fit in my car ...

c, d main reason for goin sealed is to save space.

so rovin, yuh tink a quantum amp on the alpine will be adequate?

i had a power acoustik 2100d (rated 2100wrms @ 1ohm-yes overrated i know) monoblock on my pair of subs & they were comfortable with dat amp

yes d type R r heavy - in fact 1st day i got mine i was like BWDA - carried on it a scale 1 time ....20pds each yes ! ...

d blue 15' audiopipe subs 3stage has (his box i did & is also in my subs thread) is 1 of d best econo loud subs around these days $1195 or less (rated 1000wrms)....d man come by me last wk when was d holiday & shaking up my workshed yes .... :D

DD doesnt rec u sealed their subs (IMO ppl generally buy DD for more loudness than SQ)

havent used d DD 500wrms model as yet but looking at it closer http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/woof ... eries=1500

i noticed on d 2512 model Fs is 25hz  thats quite decent for a reputed spl brand so i suspect if u tune it lower 30s it should sound good .....
