The ICE club obtained contact information for each person during the first meeting, I do not see why this was done if the only means of contact will be via facebook.

i agree

especially when you are looking to grow the sport of sq and educate the masses

what about those who either dont have access to the internet(yes that is still a factor) as well as those who dont log on as regular as others

Come on man,

IASCA Caribbean's marketing is propped up by Online Information Dissemination, more so Facebook.

IMHO this is a none issue.

Lets continue with the discussion at hand.

Guys,

We are working on finalising some more stuff for the Test and Tune event. As a result, the date is being pushed back to the 13th of February, 2011.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience,
Jonathan

The location of the event is very close to the Camden Airfield.
Just a reminder it is on the 13th Feb 2011, i.e. next week Sunday. ICE Club membership registration ($350) will be available at the event (includes IASCA membership, free test and tunes, discounts at selected supporting vendors, and much more)

DIRECTIONS:
Follow the blue path, X marks the spot!
Image

For both north and south attendees, use the Solomon Hochoy Highway and exit at the Preysal flyover. Head West and follow the Couva Main Road for about 5 minutes to enter Couva until you are at a T-junction with a KFC on the right.

(Do NOT take Rivulet Road, which would take you to the Pt. Lisas Roundabout)

Once you are at the T-junction, make a right (heading north).
Follow the road for about 2 minutes.
The location is on the left side of the road.
The name of the location is "D' Fairest Bar & Recreation Club".

There is a car park at the back of the building, which is where the event will be held.

I assume that membership without IASCA is $100?

There is no membership without IASCA.
All ICE Club financial members must be IASCA members.
However, if you are already an IASCA member, you can pay $175 for the ICE membership once you provide proof you are an IASCA member.

Things are shaping up nicely.
There will be a couple of product displays as well as a car detailing demonstration.
Tuning car is ready and there's some wonderful equipment to play with.

All of this in addition to the normal metering and advice from some of the experienced guys.

Vendors are on board for the club discounts, I'm getting some paperwork finalised for Sunday.
For those who need any more info, feel free to call me at 685-4343.

We are pushing the ICE Club memberships at the event, so those who are joining, please walk with the necessary funds. If you become a member, you test and tune for free!

Thanks for all the support, fellas.
Special thanks to our supporting vendors for making their commitments to the ICE Club Membership.

The turnout was much better than expected, and more importantly I saw some new faces in the meet.

The tuning challenge was a most fun event! with some surprising results and a close call for the winners.
Here are the results:
Image

I've highlighted the highest totalled subsections in the pic. Team B and Team D were close finishers, but look at the difference in tonal accuracy scores.
In first place, we have Team B (Mario and Videsh) with 89.5 points. The best compromise of all sounds.
2nd place belongs to Team D aka Team MK (Ray, Riad, Slacker_Jack and Casper) with a close 89 points. What was surprising was their tonal accuracy scores! 3 points in total above anyone else.
3rd place belongs to Team A (Vaughn and Kevin) with 84.5 points. Note that these are two of last year's Rookie competitors and they are definitely showing some promise.
4th place belongs to Team C (Fawwaz and Ravi) with 82.5 points.

The winners (Mario and Videsh) will receive discounted ICE Club Membership for the 2011 season.

One point to note was that one of the highest end mobile audio processors in the world was used in tuning the "Tuning Challenge" car, and it was amazing to see you guys tune the system to competition level sound (in my opinion). Even considering how complex the controls were, everyone fairly got the hang of it.

The exercise also goes to show the power of tuning.

Special thanks to Karim for a most informative polishing demonstration with handout material to read up on. Definitely top class work and a top class presentation.

Good work fellas, and let's keep the support up for the rest of the 2011 season.
Look out for more events coming soon!

A great event by the ICE club. Thanks also to the management and staff of D' Fairest Bar and Rec. Club for having us.

The tuning challenge was a blast. We got to play around with a fully active system controlled by an Alpine F1 Processor. Once in a lifetime opportunity IMO.

Soundstream 626 and myself were victorious by a slim margin. It was a wonderful learning experience.

Well what can I say, what an adrenalin rush! (it had nothing to do with the monster energy drink).
Thank you for all the demos & the evaluation of my system from Riad, Soundstream_626, Evolution_tt & the mrs, Vintage Sounds, Carfreak1024 & others as well as the opportunity to rta my system & play a minor part in tuning a vehicle. I will look into making it better & I see myself in the Iasca lanes pretty soon. I saw Nigel177 taking a peak in my trunk too, its not all that but I do have something in mind install-wise & I do feel honored that he took the time to do so. Thank you Nigel177 for providing us with the vehicle & equipment to try our hands at tuning. I am not sure who provided the metering equipment (I assume it was Iasca) but thank you too. Last but not least, thanks to D' Fairest Rec. & Bar for proving the venue.
I guess I missed the polishing tutorial or whatever it was, I will have to catch up that because I like my car looking pretty.

All in all the event was a blast & we had a new face (soundboy64) & I am proud to say that he loves what he heard & saw. Although he is still a young fellow still in school he wants to get into these lanes badly so look out for young blood in the upcoming lanes in years to come.
