I will be there as well. I was hoping to compete, but I don't think that will be likely.

not bashing any1 here but honest question :

i super curious to know how any "street bass" vehicles going to compete in real sq without any speakers upfront since most of dem have their speakers on d backdash ...or they just coming for d lime ? ... not that there is anything wrong with that .... :|

only area that will be affected is staging

all others can be scored

however must past left and right channel verification as well as phase test

If they cannot pass the left/right, they will be given 5 mins to fix. IF they cant fix, they will be judges as is, with the expectation of lower staging, imaging scores.

Racegod, Once the front stage is done then you can compete with that. The sub isn't really a major aspect of the scoring.

are the categories being split?

and also point of interest : what about ppl who did not build their own car ?

it may be argued that they have an " advantage " over the other competitors if their set was done professionally

is that necessary for an open category?

afaik theres nothing that says u have to build ur own car ; but my point is ... it may deter some ppl ... its nothing against u personally or anyone else for that matter

look at it this way : the pros usually know what works and what doesnt and by now how to effectively implement what they learned to overcome any possible issues with the system , while some people are new to it and are now trying their hand.

but one love , we will see how everyones fares sunday . Best of luck.

so how did that come into your argument?

my system was not built for competition but for my daily enjoyment....

yes my system wasnt built by me because i have no time to scrap down a vehicle and install music myself because of my work schedule and if i did try it myself, im sure i would have messed it up because electrical/ electronics are not my field....
i didnt want to modify the interior of my truck to fit subs or anything and i knew my installer did a couple trucks without having to alter the back seats etc to make subs fit...the navara has for the most 4" behind the seat at 1 point and as narrow as 1" on another side....so a proper box and sub combo and design was needed....

im only attending this event because its an open class and i would love to hear how i match up against others.....
this is the first time im entering any sort of audio competition/ event.....

Nope, not necessary. I did my ENTIRE install myself and I went gung ho into it. To be honest, it looks ghetto but sounds OK to me.

Actually, I'm interested to see what I place against some of the professional installs.

^^^That's a great attitude.
Others should not be afraid about competing as well. If you want an IASCA judge's opinion of your car and get your car scored just like IASCA competitors, be there on Sunday.
I encourage all to come. I wish I had an opportunity like this before I started competing, so don't miss out.

This is the perfect chance to start your competitive career in IASCA Sound Q, or just to see how your system fares up against the next guy.
