casper is right......

I think what Q is trying to say is that in the competition lane you will be pushing your system to it's limits and the probability does exist that something will damage or get burnt....it's a risk someone takes when they enter into SPL...

It's a risky & expensive sport......

no Q, you don't need to burn down to win...

everybody should know the limits of their system..

thank you for your interest in Atomic. yes, D-1600.1 is capable under 1 ohms in competition short burping. for everyday use, we recommend to keep it above 1 ohm.

whats your thoughts on frezzing subs before a spl compition? Im thinking with the frezzing the motor would become stiffer and somehow increse the efficentcy of the woofer.. This is a strickly SPL senario eh..

I was thinking dry ice or nitrogen seeing as they both drop below frezzing and are both *dry*..

Wont this have some kinda adverse effect though? What downsides you see to this? Glue giving way if frozen to much? BL changing? Cracking of hard parts if heated to fast? Impendence rise/drop?

wudnt freezing the sub cause the metal to contract which can cause the coil to burst?

What about a liquid cooling system like that of a pc?
