Didn't post in a while

Got an alpine 535hd head unit as a gift a few months back so swapped the pioneer.

Picked this up on sale yesterday in Miami.

Gonna swap the ground zero into a 2013 ford ranger. Waiting on the daskkit and electronic modules. Install is just gonna be an upgrade to the stock system and not built as much as the hilux install, new head unit to gain hands free functions as well as reverse camera.

Drove home from the installer so listened for about 20mins. System sounds a lot more powerful. Have a packed afternoon so would listen more later...

Like I said before I'm not using this thread to bash any product, installer etc.

The pdx is noticeably different but at the same time the output specs is higher so it's an unbiased comparison. The sub channel alone is about 200w more on the pdx

For the cost I got the pdx I couldn't let it go. Got it for under $400us bnib

The jl hd and the pdx both have similar specs and I have never listened to an install with it but bang for the buck the pdx was a steal for a deal....


I plan on using the ground zero in a 2013 ranger. Waiting on the dash kit etc

Aaron, I have one question.

looking at the current install it seems to be a 2way passive and subs...ideally a two way quasi - active system. why couldn't the A/C processor work? i understand the connectivity benefits with having the 6to8 via Bluetooth, but i was just wondering why the A/C piece could not work.

well there were a few factors....

1. The audio control has 1 pair rca aux input. After swapping the deck i wanted to use the rca out from the deck, which couldn't be accommodated on the device.

2. To tune the system it required me to remove the driver seat, since i didn't have the remote to attach to the audio control and the local dealer couldn't get it for me. Therefore, it was a tad bit of an inconvenience if i wanted to make alterations.

So I've had the morels in the van a little over a year and maybe swapping them out by the end of the year.. recently had a 2013 Ranger done with the latest DLS line and WOW that front stage is impressive....

if anyone is interested in the front and rear speakers offers would be welcome...just no lowballers
