I say the technician makes the difference
Dont know if you guys remember JAN and the orange hunter,,, he used 2 audio pipe 12" and did 157dbs and sounded really good,,,

that car sounded lke toots on music but loud on the meter .

if you really wanna hear a system shine ask the person to play late night tip . any system that can play that with authority is well built .

I was listening to ah big "installer" today, telling a man how to tune his system. Very hillarious!

Most systems that do well on the meter tuned to hit one note with authority (hence the term 'one note wonders').

Some can do fairly well on SPL and street beating as most systems out here this rounds tuned high anyways.
