I want to play around with a JBL MS-8 but I only have a DLS A7 which is a 5 channel. I was looking at the JBL MS-A1004 to add to the mix. The options I have is to save the money and use the MS-8 amplification which is 20 watts rms per channel. The DLS would run the midbass (500 Hz <) in the doors, and the left and right wide banders (500 Hz >), plus the sub. The MS-8 would power the center and the rears.
Another option is to run the MS-A1004 for sub and midbass, and the MS-8 power the other aforementioned speakers. The DLS would take a rest.
The last option is to let the DLS and MS-A1004 power everything with the ms-8 working as a processor only.
I was also looking at the space saved removing the DLS A7
The MS-A1004 is not bought yet. So what do you think?
