only way to know for sure is to follow proper procedure whilst breaking in and do it yourself so you'll know it's done properly, a little glue smell is not bad just don't push it too far. there are several topics on how to do it properly.

^^^aye boi...dont take he on....he have no life....internet iz he life...

to the original poster....some subs require approximately 48hrs of PLAYING time to fully break in...this may extend to 2 - 3 weeks depending on how often u play ur music while u driving or....depending on excursion of the sub etc...cuz obviously u not gonna be playing music in ur car 24/7

an effective way to break in ur sub is to run tones on it while playing in free air or somn...make sure the sub is not located close to any walls etc, and that the vent hole in the back isnt being blocked...try situating the sub in the middle of the room u leaving it in...and monitor its excursion...try not to let it go beyond 3/4 of it's xmax in the breaking in period...over excursion may lead to spider damage...
