WTK: JUGGERNAUT 2700wrms stamp?

Postby theblitz » December 7th, 2008, 12:05 pm

What is stamped behind the 2700wrms model?

The 1500wrms is stamped 2000W, but I do not know about the higher model offhand. This is in relation to this:

Trying to help this guy out.
Thanks.

the speaker's stamp is constant,it does not change based on the wattage of the sub

however the only way to tell,u will see aluminum stamped on the frame

^^^ so it would still have 2000W stamped on it? what do you mean see 'aluminium stamped on the frame'? The words 'aluminium coil' will be on the spokes?

I dont understand how can the 2700rms & 1500rms model have the same stamp. they are subs with 2 different power handeling capacities, shouldnt the stamp behind the sub reflect on the power handeling capacity?

I still find it strange that the 2 subs will have the same backplate, that leaves room for man to sell 1500rms subs @ 2700rms sub price & for tuners to tell man who hav 2700rms sub for sale that its the 1500rms model & offer dem dog price for it.

something still sounds kinda fishy here, you guys sure that it is not another one of tripple r's blunders? because someone said in the reference thread that they bought some DD's & they came sealed in boxes with the wrong impendance. i feel something going on somehwere along the lines.

Straight from David Thompson at MMATS:

[quote]
The original Juggernaut was dual 1.4 ohm copper rated at 1500 watts RMS / 2000 watts reactive.

We changed the VC to dual 2 ohms in the summer of 2007. This is a flat wound aluminum VC and hold the same power as the 1.4 ohm copper.

The High Power VC has always been the dual 2 ohm round aluminum. Although the back plate reads 2000 watts (because we can not change the engraving as they are all done in large batches) the RMS power would be 2700 watts or “3500â€
