WTK: biamping cheaply

Postby nareshseep » November 2nd, 2007, 1:18 pm

I came up with this idea to biamping, just wanted to check with you all if this is ok, If I have a set of components that can be biamped, can i use my deck to run the tweeters and use my amp to to run the mid/mid bass?

you can purchase a set of DLS rs6a's they come with independent xover filters for the tweeter and the mid bass allowing you to bi amp the system

if you going with your idea use the xover off the deck for the tweets and set the low pass on the amp for the mid bass

yes u can, once you get the crossover points properly.

or if the deck's crossover aint all that, you can just get a pair of passives and run it like

deck >> passive high pass >> tweeters

and

deck >> amp >> lowpass set on amp >> midbass

Eventually you can get an external crossover and use it like this:

deck >> crossover >> highpass >> channel 1,2 amp >> tweeters

and

deck >> crossover >> lowpasspass >>channel 3,4 amp >> midbass
