I'm looking to do a simple sq build but I'm very limited on alternator power and amplifier channels.
Amplifier is a 5 channel audison and I have a helix dsp.3s, and we'll so far a jbl shallow sub.
Having 2 way components I've found myself leaning towards having a 3 way component for quite some time now but on doing reviews and reading I see myself facing some challenges especially with speaker distance and the limited channels I have. Adding a next amplifier is a definite no due to space and other equipment in the car.
Having 2 way comps I've always felt like I've been missing the vocal range of things if I have to guess I would say from around 300hz or so up 4khz give or take so I'll always see myself trying to eq something to get it to sound ok ish but never had much luck hense why I would like to have a 3 way set up front or something that would help!
So the question I would like to ask is that would it be advisable to use a pair of 3 way components up front and use the supplied passive crossover or would it be better to use a midbass driver and a wideband driver let's say 2.5-3 inch in size actively? Or use midrange/wideband driver with a tweeter and have a passive on them while keep the midbass active?
For further info midbass speakers cannot fit in the kick panel due to wiring so will be keeping them in the doors
Distance measured to driver headrest for speakers are
Sails 44inches on driver, 55inches on passenger
A pillar is the same
Doors are the same as well
Kick panel 56 inches in driver side and 63 inches on passenger side.
I would like to get some advice before I buy anything. Thanks
