Twas a great event, I met Clive Sugden there ( AKA Professor ) that used to drive the Rustop Datsun in the ole wallerfield days. It wouldve been nice if someone on the PA couldve recognized him and maybe call him out. I consider him to be one of our local racing legends. He is the one who beat Richard Longman in his famous Longman Mini.

I went around the course with him in his Subaru to explain the course to him and he seems interested to come and try it. You know these old guys, once they have it in their blood they cant get it out. If he decides to try it there will be a good marketing opportunity for CARS.

If we could get some of these old ( Clive, if youre reading this I dont mean aged, just experienced) racers to come out I bet there will be a lot of interest in our sport.

Think about it.

Oh yes, I also saw Victor Samuel there as well, another old timer who was considered quite a first class mechanic in the old wallerfield days. He raced a Vauxhall if I remember correctly.

Vic was there?
He didn't race at wallers, but he had a nice fleet of Vauxhalls, including a VX490 and HA Viva...our families go waaaaay back
Wish I knew he was there
