Guys (and Gals)
After discussions at last night Quarterly meeting, lets start with the proposed SCCA rules to be used as a reference.
Those can be down loaded here:

The most recent revisions were completed in 2004/2005 and were issed as an addenum. A summary of these issues as as follows, please have a read and give us some feedback.

[color=blue]CARS SOLODEX 2004 SERIES - COMPETITION AND RULE CHANGE SUMMARY
1. CLASSES:
a. There will be five (5) classes in the SoloDex 2004 series. These are as follows - GS, HS, ES, ESP, and EP
2. CLASS DETERMINATION:
A competitor’s class will be determined using one, some or all of the following:
i. Actual measurements of weight and power using scales and HP measuring devices.
ii. Measurement of ¼ mile times using CARS / AutoSport’s timing equipment and / or a GTECH Pro device. The car must be in full SoloDex race trim including the use of race tyres, race modified ECUs, turbo boost etc.
iii. Manufacturers’ specifications of Power and Weight to determine Power/Weight ratio for the stock vehicle.
iv. Following is a guide to the classification of vehicles for 2003 competitions:
CLASS P/W Range Equivalent 1/4 Mile Times (secs)
GS ??+ 20.000+
HS 29.9-?? 18.500 to 19.999
ES 22-29.9 17.000 to 18.499
ESP 15-21.9 14.800 to 16.999
EP 11.5-14.9 under 14.799
EP <=11.5 14.000
Using Power to Weight ratios or ¼ mile times to approximate a car’s power are deemed to be sufficient for classing purposes. Even though these are primarily measures of engine performance, there is a reasonable assumption that a manufacturer will match engine performance with suspension modifications. As such, cars in a higher power trim level are expected to also have higher suspension trim levels than equivalent cars with lower power when purchased stock. Therefore, ¼ times can reflect both power and handling potential of a car.
3. ALLOWABLE MODIFICATIONS:
3.1 GENERAL
A. All Allowable modifications shall be permitted in all five classes GS, HS, ES, ESP, and EP.
B. Street Prepared vehicles may only be modified in excess of Stock Category rules in the following ways. Any modification not specifically authorized by the Stock Category or Street Prepared rules is prohibited. No unauthorized modifications are permitted in order to accommodate authorized modifications (i.e., non-stock hood scoops or holes necessary for carburetor clearance). Structural modifications, such as the addition of members known as "jacking rails", are not permitted unless specifically authorized herein.
C. Equipment and/or specifications may be exchanged between different years and models of a vehicle if the item is standard on the year/model from which it was taken.
D. Equipment and/or specifications may be exchanged between different years and models of a vehicle if the updated/backdated part or the part to which it is to be attached may not be altered, modified, machined or otherwise changed to facilitate the updating/backdating allowance.
E. The updating and/or backdating of engines, transmissions or transaxles must be done as a unit; component parts of these units may not be interchanged.
F. Alternate computer control modules may be used whenever an equivalent change to the conventional system is allowed. For example, alternate computer module control of ignition settings or fuel injection is allowed. Direct turbocharger boost control by alternate computer control is not, since there is no equivalent mechanical allowance.
G. Air conditioning systems may be removed in whole or in part.
H. Notwithstanding the aforementioned items, the final classification will be ultimately be determined by the vehicles Power to weight ration and/or its tested ¼ mile time as outlined in section 2.0.
3.2 SUSPENSION
3.2.1 All Classes
A. Any Steering wheel change
B. Any brake, accelerator and clutch pedal changes
C. Any strut tower bars, front and rear
D. Any lower tie bars, front and rear
E. Any anti-roll bar changes, front and rear
F. Changes in shocks and springs, excluding changes that require changed suspension mount points from stock. Add-on “coil-overâ€
