Just need to do a lil tuning and I'm good to go. Hopefully we'll see some rookies for this event.

There are currently NO rookies. You are guaranteed a first place once you show up.

boom, I've heard that being pissed off is people's natural reaction to you... no speakers required :P

For those interested in Sound Q competition, or even thinking of competing next year, show up and get your car scored. You may not score highly...let's face it, you more than likely will score pretty badly, but it is called the ROOKIE class for a reason. The good news is that you will have no competition, so you will be placed first, and win the spoils.

Then go home, analyse your scoresheet and tune for the next comp, so that next time you have BOTH a high score and a high placement, while the new guy at the NEXT show is still figuring out what the hell he's doing wrong. So use this chance to get ahead of the next guy now. You will gain more from the judge, than you will from waiting on whatever it is you're waiting on.

Win win, beyotches, win win...

Excellent advice there. Where are all the guys from the ICE forum? You have to start somewhere and this event is in your favour.

Agreed with Silent statement above. Last year Rookie had at least 9 Competitors. Competition was stiff and I would say fun. What did I gain with stepping up to the plate joining active competition?
1 Knowlege

A vast wealth of knowledge about my own system. You can have the best system or the very basic, it does not matter here. Its about getting what you have to reach its fullest potential. Even the very basic of systems once properly setup are competition worthy. What you learn as a competitor I doubt you can get that easily on the ICE or posting on "Trinituner".

Knowledge about the sport. Well I guess I don't need to elaborate on this.

Knowledge about equipment and music (sound) on a whole.

What my downfalls are... What I am listening for when tuning, How to tune.

2 Fun... Apart from the first event which was just a nervous breakdown... It was all fun.

3 Greater appreciation for Music and my ears...

4 A huge Rookie Trophy... So if you all want it... you need to come and get it!

This year have it easier... Where is the competition??? If you wait till next year, next year never comes... its about today and what you can do today. Wining or a good score is not what a Rookie should enter for. A rookie should enter to be able to learn whats good and bad about there system and how to improve on what they have and graduate to the next level.

So lets see who wants to be able to move up to the next level?

The fact that there is no competition is what bothers me, first with nobody placed after me = last place in my book.
No competition = no fun plus my system is nowhere near complete.

If you want competition, feel free to drop in the amateur or higher classes. That will be LOTS of fun.

stop being a chicken and jump in the arena... if ur worried about competition then ur competing for the wrong reasons.. best do it for personal satisfaction at what u can achieve yourself not what others inspire u to do .

if u compete and you are alone then pretty soon someone will com along and challenge you ... then you can step up to teh plate and defend your title this making it a competition .

if all my "plans" fall into place i'll be in the lanes again next yr
