Battery venting rule for sound q...........DISCUSS

Postby SR » October 7th, 2006, 6:44 am

as the rule book says a battery has to be vented properly.if the battery is inside the vehical then the only way it can vent properly is if it is in a sealed compartment and vented to outside the car and not allowing any gas inside the vehical

some batteries have a vent port, if some plastic/nylon/whatever tubing was attached to the port, and the other end passed thru the vehicles body to the outside, will that suffice?

I figure once there's something going through the vehicle to the outside then that should be enough. So long as there's an opening from the battery to the outside of the vehicle. That's the way I interpreted it.

as i stated it
thats how it will be judged

taken from the iasca judges forum

minimum venting should be 1/4" diameter

this must be shown in your presentation if it cannot be easily seen
otherwise you cannot be scored on it
