What the hey? from 15's to 12's ....talk about boat lag! I wonder who tuned that? Or is it that the car was always a 12-second car and they were just tweaking the first day?

it's mine, I was having an electronic problem the first weekend and did a best time of 14 something and pulled out of the race.

Came back down the next weekend and after making a temp. fix (I had no line lock, transbreak, shiftlight etc) so i had to left foot break it off the line and did a best time of 10.9 against Mad cow.

It is a shame you guys lost the track cause i was leaving the car there to compete till a little later on in the year but I guess things changed.

Dat car is from Grenada which was recently built over (Body & Engine) in time for our event in Trinidad. That was the first set of runs he did since the rebuild and ofcourse he encountered some bugs which was not sorted out on the first day of racing in Trinidad which is why he ran 13 secs as his best ....

The next week, he was able to sort out some stuff and did a personal best time of 10.9 secs as his best run ... He however went on to compete in the 11 secs bracket ..... I believe Mervyn Bonnett from Trinidad is his cheif mechanic ......

BTW - "Wraith" on our Forum is the owner and driver of the said Mustang ..... :)

Here are the specs.

Engine
Bone stock 302ci bottom end, Alum. heads with performance valves, lifters pushrods, performer intake, Comp Cam. (cannot remember the specs.) Edelbrock performerNOS setup with 150shot, Demon carb. BBK 1 3/4" full tube headers

Tranny is a powerglide 2 speed

Suspension
Tubular front end with engine set back 2", tubular control arms, QA1 coilovers camber/caster plates, rear upper and lower adjustable control arms, QA1rear coilovers, sub frame connecters, anti-sway bar, strange axles, 4.10 gears, mini tubbed rear end. the suspension is still in the stock location but the car is built like the stock 10.5" mustang class in NHRA

The whole car was seam welded and roll cage installed, after seeing my friend flip his car 7 times I was not skimping on the safety features, it took nearly 2.5 years to be compleated and I still have allot of adjusting to do to get it running perfect.

I also have a new 418ci big inch small block being completed this week in North Carolina which should make the car very interesting to drive. (I cannot wait)
I have plenty pics but it is the time I do not have to post them somewhere.

Hey Maniac am sorry we did not get to meet, maybe next time.

wagonrunner - i totally gutted the car it to loose some weight so it is now just totally strip plus I do not believe the authorities would pass it with such an extensive roll cage in it.

Stangin82 - I do not post much cause most times i am extremely busy at work so I am normally in lurker mode, I never had a problem getting parts for it (my mechanic is always in the states) & summit / jegs is always there to order from.

What I would love to find is a 67-68 fast back to build for street cruising, that is my dream.

horsepwrjunki - the tubs are compitetion engineering steel tubs which come a standard size which you cut to suit, the cage was a kit from Autofab race cars in the states and it was chromolly

X2 - basically you could bring any car you want here, we have no restriction on the age of the vehicles. My problem is just finding a good condition 67 that the owner actually is willing to get rid of.
