WTK Chevy Cruze 2012 VS Kia Forte KOUP 2012

Having trouble deciding between these 2.
The cruze has way better mileage and resale value, and a more sedative look. But the Koup has a much more sporty look, and, imo, its exterior is much more outstanding
Which would you recommend and why? Most people would say it depends on what you looking for, but both of these vehicles are great.

both these vehicles are recent, what is your reasoning for saying either has good resale value? and what kinda depreciation are you hoping for?

Plus, find out where these locally offered vehicles are being assembled/manufactured before you decide.

Best advice is really you go test drive both of them. Carry a few friends too as the cars are different. You might appreciate having a proper backseat in the cruze for example.

Dealership issues should factor in if you buying brand new. One dealer here doesn't have the best reputation in terms of after sales service. You also getting 5 years warranty on the cruze compared to 3 (I think) on the Kia Koup.

You might wanna contact NorStar2K as he has test driven the Cruze. He would be able to give you some good level headed insight on it as well.

i test drove both and was please with the performance of each vehicle. however at the time chevy offered the body kit as part of the purchase last year and at the time that was the deciding factor over kia for me. certain styling dues such as the dashboard fabric wrapping into the doors also added a nice touch. i also have the option of bringing in parts from the states so thats why i chose the cruze.

my money is on the cruze
granted I hang on to cars for a very long time so resale may not be as big an issue for me
I love the handling of the cruze......the Kia range is too soft for my liking, but what I consider soft and wallowy, some may consider smooth.......Pretty sure the cruze will protect me better in a crash as well

I've owned the Cruze for over a year (24000 km).
Would I recommend buying? Yes, but with reservations.
Am I a Chevy fanboy? NO
Am I a LSM fanboy? NO NO

Pros when compared to Kia Koup
Bigger, will likely hold up better in a head on collision (Cruze has scored well in crash tests, check youtube).

Cons
Kia has a vastly improved brand image (look at the Optima!) and is likely to have better resale. I'm seeing many Cerato and Koup vehicles on the road so parts may be more accessible than the Cruze 3 years down the road. I think the exterior of the Koup is slightly better than the Cruze but it depends on the purpose (the Cruze is a better family car)

Other comments:
Chevy resale is horrid in Trinidad. But the Cruze still has consumer interest at the moment and is by far the best chevy car ever sold in Trinidad. The problem with Chevy resale is brand image and costly repairs. In the past only the cheapest Chevy vehicles on the planet with the most basic of accessories were sold in Trinidad.

Don't know if this will make a difference, but presently the cruze is destroying the competition in fia's world touring car championship I.e. WTCC.
This is the third largest fia Motorsport event to 1st formula 1 and 2nd WRC

The car is seriously growing on me because of this.
