lemme give u the run down on these cars right now....
1. aaron's blue r32
did mid - high 9's with times like 9.6, 9.7 and 9.8
unfortunately the car's weak point is and will be the bearings until the bottom end is made stronger. in st lucia aaron clocked his 9.7 run running his yellow r32 which did 10.8, having stopping problems, he down shifted hi revving the engine which gave reason to why the bearing may have spun.
with aaron's current goal being a 8 second gtr r32 on a STOCK gear box. using a quad disc OS clutch on four 15" weld racing rims on four slicks.
aaron's goal is GOING to be a very difficult one to achieve being on that power level and on the breaking point of things like bearings, gearboxes and diffs. it MAY just happen but attaining that mph up top all depends on his 60ft which needed MUCH improvement off the line in st. lucia.
2. nicholas' r32 gts.
nic has found some new faith in a tuner from Jamaica, he is VERY experienced in tuning cars from all over the world, in miami, grenada, st lucia, and many other states in the US.... not only a tuner, but the owner of a 8 second fc3s, 9 sec ct9a and a 9 sec civic hatch.
sooo nic has attempted to be different and wanted to try building the first methanol rb25 in the caribbean. after dynoing at 725whp after 11 pulls on the dyno in 25 mins which was impressive using 2200cc injectors, wossner pistons and eagle rods on a stock crank acl bearings and modified oil pump. controlled by a wolf v500.
after suffering from minor engine failure with the bearings again, the rb project in the skyline is on hold for a bit, pickin up something a little ...'different' for the grenada event at the end of may.
if everything goes as planned and parts arrive as expected, the rb project should be functional by september for the st lucia event.
3. navin's murple gts r32
navin's 2jz powered r32 driven by larry from drag international clocked a time of 9.5 which was impressive seein that it was the first time that car ran on a track. larry however who is more than accustomed to driving much faster than mere 9 second passes steered the car properly down the track in grenada.
the 2jz being on a a stock bottom end and slight headwork, which i think were just cams, was very impressive to say the least. 9.5 seconds on a slightly modified motor. but with good suspension, good tyres and great driving, a reliable tune from the haltech platinum 2000 tuned by central speed ltd, made the 9.5 look like a breeze, the TCI three speed tranny helped the power delivery to allow proper and smooth driving with the advancement in increasing the DRIVABILITY of the car.
navin is soon to get a complete engine built by larry to replant into his gts 32 to compete at the drag wars in grenada. with more power, and some slight suspension work, the car should lower its ETs comfortably.

however THESE cars are prolly comfortably in the lower 9 second range.
trinidad is under SO much INTENSIVE work in the automotive industry right now, we have 100% drag cars, tube frame chassis, 9's differentials. chassis engineering work, increasing knowledge high than 'peak horsepower,' we have gone so far ahead, international events like grenada and st lucia are going to be two of the BIGGEST events TRINI drag cars will ever see.
competition motivates us all.
