This is the name of the game.

And guess what, the same tactic applies to any consumer related item. Groceries (When VAT was reduced and then removed), Laptops and tablets (when taxes were removed) and smart phones (when taxes were removed).

Colm Imbert summarised us Trinis perfectly when he said "... And they haven't rioted as yet..."

This is their reply for the Kona being so expensive, bs? Or plausible? I dunno, I'd think this would apply to all the vehicles and not just one they also saying the ' ioniq ev ' is coming in at 329, don't know if that's the ioniq 5 or what, I dunno about any other ev they have in production under the ioniq name, unless she talking about the Hyundai ioniq, ( old model )

Yea it’s the normal Ioniq but still that price sounding wrong. How much was an all electric Ioniq before ?
It was around 280k in leather I believe.
The maths very off.

With no taxes the ioniq should be cheaper

The kona has a bigger battery hence it will be quite a bit more expensive since the battery is a significant cost in an EV

What sorcery is this? The Ioniq electric was $270k before for the one with the sunroof, now with zero taxes its $329k? Forex? The rate hasn't changed much. Global supply has changed as well as shipping costs so she didn't lie with that part.

As was mentioned in a previous post mere hours ago, this is simply widening the profits per sale citing a bunch of bs for us to fall for. $329k for that car? I could buy a Raize and have spare change for a roro Fielder to reduce carbon emissions via tail pipe but to burn more natural gas?

Sure it's expensive, but who is going to spend close to 400k on a Hyundai!?
Is best they bring down a few, keep the price at where it is and focus on that niche in the market. I can't see them selling alot of these.

David you will be surprised. It have people out there who spending $500-600k on new Sorento's and Santa Fe's. At least those are spacious crossovers with 7 seats but all in all, I expect to see some Kona and Ioniq EVs on the road regardless of the beat up on them.

That's the niche in the market. The people who willing to spend that kinda money on a Korean vehicle. With electric vehicles you don't pay for gas or normal service items but you pay for it with your electricity bill. Speaking of which I wonder how much said bill can go up by?

Can’t go wrong with that and I plan to plug in at the office too if I return to work after the pandemic. There’s a handy plug next to my spot.

T&T OFFICIAL New Vehicle Prices & Discussion Thread

Postby agent007 » January 17th, 2022, 1:32 pm

Smart Energy Ltd. is not an authorized dealership so the following prices won’t be posted on page 1. This is here FYI only:

Nissan Leaf - $39k USD or $264,392.70
Nissan Ariya - $51k USD or $345,744.30
Tesla Model 3 - $48k USD or $325,406.40
Tesla Model Y - $56k USD or $379,640.80
Tesla Model X - $124k USD or $840,633.20

ER at $1.00 USD = $6.7793 TTD

If you’re interested in the Leaf, you can get a 2018 model for as low as $185k (P&V) or a 2019 model for as low as $220k (Achievors).

Achievors also advertised:
Mercedes Benz EQC AMG - $770k
Land Rover Range Rover Evoque R-Design PHEV - $750k
Hyundai Ioniq 5 - $490k
Mercedes Benz A250e - $450k

Based on my recollection of pre-exemption pricing, it appears the savings was not passed onto us.

Initial pricing, for let's say the Leaf, isn't as bad as I thought. Now I get why locally, these are all the talk these days. But I am still stuck in the past, can't get over the sound of starting my car in the morning. Gasoline runs in my veins!

As the owner of a 2017 Ioniq I still enjoy the gas mileage at 930-975km per tank and my car needs to service at the moment. However, if given the opportunity I'd NEVER buy a new one at the present price point. It's too ridiculous.

I wanted to buy a new Elantra as a daily but even at $250k fully loaded with the sheit entertainment options I considered it for 5mins then decided against it. Idk what Massy is trying to do but it stinks.

Zando, pariaman is correct. Those are new.

Snypaz, so it's been 5 years, have you ever required warranty intervention and what's the status of your cells?

Well those prices aren't bad then, especially for the aria and Tesla, better than the crap massy doing.
