Ah now turbo gdi is a different beast but a NA economy engine is of no serious consequence. The knock sensor is key and nothing detrimental should be recorded if logged and the sensor is fully functional.

Thinking of moving back to a VW as nothing beats its drive imo..BMW ride a bit to stiff.

Tiguan low in stock with 2 models available. Base model lacks any features a modern SUV should have ( e.g. no keyless ignition or automatic seats) and higher spec "quoted" at probably 100k more.

No Amarok in stock atm as well.

I feel like Massy only holding on to VW because of their commitment in Colombia. Unfortunate as the local market is low on options. Mechatronic issue wiped out the Jetta interest also. Combine that with the fact that RHD jettas not being made they would’ve needed to switch to the golf.

I drove a BMW X1 sDrive18i with M-Sport kit and the drive felt really nice for a fwd crossover. I think it was equipped with an 8AT transmission too. That model if I'm not mistaken was priced around $385-395k. I presume by now those should be in the early 400k range.

The X3 sDrive 20i is not much bigger in terms of interior volume for the price but the power is even more impressive and this is genuine rwd.

Give them a proper try and either may surprise you.

It’s silly to me because there are still so many VW crossover options for RHD markets, while the Golf is more of a niche option, other mass market models I think would do well if priced reasonably

T-Roc
T-Cross
Tiago

Engine displacements on those models range between 1.0 and 1.5 TSI with optional 2.0TSI options so the import costs can stay low.

If you bring options people will purchase but the Tiguan is too far out of most person’s reach .

Wow 270k? Would love to see what spec they have to justify that.

Just a fyi:

Axs no longer in our market (not sure if it was replaced by eclipse cross)

Toyota could keep the cheaply made small and expensive Corolla Cross even the mg better equipped

Guys what y'all think between a purchase of a 12 month old 2020 LE fabric model frontier vs a new 2022 XE 4x4 model, PRICE DIFFERENCE IS $50,000?

You can take the XE and carry it by Mathai and give it the LE treatment (this makes no sense as you can simply buy the LE and done).

HSM have brought in two I believe, a white and a black...

Not sure of pricing, but saw pics of them on a FB page with HSM being referenced.

Try calling HSM for a price.

Spoke to a honda sales rep....so the new model honda city would be here before year end....but it wont be cng.....
Does that leave the suzuki ciaz the only cng model car they will be selling from brand new?

AFAIK, the ciaz cng is a locally converted vehicle. It's easy to install a cng kit on most new vehicles and cover up the tank with some board wrapped in subwoofer box material. After which you stick the "CNG" emblem to the back and there you go...

As for the Indian made 91hp 1.4L ciaz which iirc does not have fold down back seats, I wish all current and future owners all the best with that where long term reliability and practicality is concerned.

Based on the below, I suspect the BRV would be priced similar to the Rush or they may very well go premium since it's a Honda and decide to head up into Grand Creta territory.

Suzuki Ertiga 1.5 GL: $180k
Suzuki XL7 1.5 GL: $200k
Suzuki XL7 1.5 GLX: $215k
Toyota Rush 1.5 entry: $235k
Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 1.5: $239k (2 years free service)
Toyota Rush 1.5 mid spec: $250k
Hyundai Grand Creta 2.0: $315-$325k
Mercedes Benz GLB 1.3T: high 400's

Datsun Cross 1.2: no longer imported
Nissan Livina 1.5: no longer imported

Right now, where cheap third world 7 seaters are concerned, you really can't beat the value proposition of the Suzukis especially with that towering 5 year warranty as well as the Xpander to some extent.

Yes, was hoping for the entry level BRV fo be priced similiar to the Rush, but my guess is more in the $289-$299K range for the basic version. As for the premium version, features like "Honda Sensing" and "Lane Watch" sounds like a justification for pricing just around a base CRV. Just a guess...we will see hopefully soon.

In relation to the Tax exemptions on hybrids that takes effect from tomorrow engine size must not exceed 1599cc but the electric motor's output shouldnt exceed 105 KW thats about 140 hp. Clearly it was revised a bit and should make way for some interesting vehicles from the Euros to the Koreans.

I edited the list and removed the Prius and Corolla Cross since those are 1.8. The others should be fine. Help me compile a list if you all can, thanks.

Saw some Mazda 3's with blown headlights, it includes the LED marker lights, hopefully this isn't a Hyundai/kia sit, but from what I saw it's the whole unit and not just the drls, just when I was bigging up Mazda
