Honestly thought it would have broke the 300 grand mark but all in I like this vehicle, now they need to bring the Fronx damnit!

It’s nice looking and well specced but how that 1.5 coping? Had a 1.5 Mitsubishi Xpander as a rental and it was pain to pass people and it wasn’t even loaded up.

Did some checking and it seems that 1.5 has less than 100hp , just when I thought they had a hit on their hands they go and do this nonsense, that's less power than the engine in the jimny and less power than the 1.0t in the fronx, I hope that mild hybrid gives it an extra amount of boost.

What they should have done is put the same 1.0T from the fronx in the GV, at least that breaks 100hp

Edit* I did some more research, firstly, this model is designed for ' developing markets ' aka third world countries, so places like Australia won't get it because apparently they're first world .

There are two models, the mild hybrid which we get, total output is 101hp, the second model is a full hybrid with a bigger Li-ion battery and a stringer electric motor, total output is about 116hp (partnered with Toyota), the former comes with a normal automatic, the full hybrid comes with an e-cvt.

pretty much....The strong hybrid with the e-CVT does not get the paddle shifters. Also the strong hybrid looses some significant trunk space due to the battery pack. 373litres in the Mild Hybrid vs 265litres in the Strong Hybrid. Also the Strong Hybrid gets a 3 cylinder engine, so it would not be as refined as a 4 banger. Pros and Cons!

By rollonrolloff the mild is 210,000 and the strong hybrid is 235,000. That is brand new with one year/10k km warranty.

Ansa reps have been saying all Rangers will come with the new biturbo engine but it seems only the Wildtrak will. Have not seen one review online where the biturbo is paired with a 6 speed

Vehicles built for a local market are not necessarily identical to vehicles built for export only.

If the vehicles are delivered from the factory, there is no guarantee that the vehicles are not dealer special order (DSO), where nonstandard options are built or delivered; nor can you be certain that ANSA has published the correct information.

Ansa certainly has it wrong. Thing is sales reps either misinformed or lying as it was said all models will be coming with the biturbo. They should have least aimed to keep things similar to the outgoing model where the middle and highest spec has the more powerful engine. Now you've to shell out half a million to get that and at the same time lose many features that came standard last model.
The 6 speed vs the 10 is probably not such a bad thing as I've seen a lot of complaints and even lawsuits regarding the performance of the 10

The power output of the Single turbo 2.0 diesel is exactly what is printed on the image of the brochure, in addition to coming with the 6speed auto

I think the biturbo part was a misprint

You have to ask yourself what a warranty from massy is worth.

Bring it in new yourself for 280K or local foreign new dealers glad to sell it for around 335K

Doesn’t sound like good value for a lifted Impreza hatch. AWD is also a gimmick down here

Not quite true ... floods and the mud/dirt is a regular thing now a days. The awd system is perfect for that kinda situations.

Saw one of those new Hyundai starias today, , the whole middle part of the LED day time running light looked like it blew because I know the whole strip lights up, anyone know why Hyundai always has issues with those lights not lasting long?

Thats how it functions actually. Only when the headlights are turned on the entire strip is lit up other than that the middle part is off when the DRL function is on.

I am thoroughly baffled as to whats going on here. Half a mil for an impreza on scaffolding but then again Massy marketing Subaru as one of their "Luxury" brands

And people will buy it. So we complain about the price, take 10 year loans and buy these mediocre cars for the same price of a premium luxury vehicle in the US.

That’s like 60k USD for an Impreza - that kind of money is a 7 seater SUV.

The govt taxes us hard - and govt defenders say thy can do that because we get subsidies for the gas. That excuse no longer has any merit.

I can rant on and on but the reality is it will continue and eventually my kids will be paying 1 million dollars for their generations Tiida.

I see the foreign used dealers bringing in the new grand Vitara fully loaded for less than the base model lifestyle has al though the warranty etc lifestyle giving is pretty good.
