I think they only keep a few in bond every shipment, most they release and probably pay taxes on them. Keeping all vehicles in bond until they are sold just increase the time it takes for delivery after purchase.

You are quite correct. You're a travelling officer?

Yeah.

I wonder ... if the vehicle is released to the dealer then they pay VAT ... then when it is then sold to the customer you have to pay VAT. So technically there should be more than just a 2.5% reduction on the 2015 prices. Or am I wrong?

Well even if they pay less vat on it, their ex VAT sales price to us would be the same, so I think the most we would see is a (1- 112.5/115)% reduction. Still it should be a couple thousand dollars.

There's an Audi salesman on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/audiautomobile ... s/?fref=ts

His last posts were about the A4 for 320k VI and Q3 for 340k VI

Not sure what transmissions Audi A4 and Q3 ship with but I hope you won't be happy with a free top up of oil if you get an engine that burns it. Dealer would do an oil consumption test. If the volume of oil consumed is within a certain range then they won't do anything as they consider it "normal". If it's outside the range they would go into your engine to find the problem.

I haven't heard owners complaining but maybe you should ask that question in the euro forum as well.

I've heard A4 owners complain about relatively high oil consumption and the dealer told them it's normal behaviour.

It's amazing one of the largest auto makers in the world turned to one of the smallest to supply a subcompact car. Toyota ought to be ashamed and the front design was totally screwed up. Nevertheless the current 1.3 over-priced Yaris looks like a hand-held/portable vacuum cleaner. All it missing is for some raj down south to install a massive wing on the trunk so this vacuum could get a handle.

My friend A4 burning about a quart of oil every 3000-4000kms. It started with helix ultra but it's being topped off with quartz 9000. He mentioned that he accelerates quickly though, which might contribute to the higher consumption:smile:

My Q5 2.0T doesn't have an oil consumption problem. Approaching the 15,000 service and it hasn't even budged.

Though my 09 Tiguan did.

So the May have done some updates.

15000 km isn't much though because that sounds like a vehicle just under a year old for average driving patterns . Possibly is it that it's just bare above activating the warning light right before you go to service

The Q5 has no dipstick, so to check the oil levels it's in the MMI. And it hasn't even budged below full. Let's hope it stays that way [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES].

My only comparison is to then Tiguan which would burn oil and had to be topped up ever 4000km from new.

Neither boat like but they are very different cars.

The Tiguan is a more fun car to drive. More sporty handling. Less body roll.

The Q5 is more luxurious and comfortable.

Power is similar though.

Which I prefer?
The Q5 for my day to day life. Great on the highways etc. Better going over bumps in the roads.

But the Tiguan is a more fun car, miss it terribly when on the Maracas road or on the drive down to Mayaro or Toco. The power delivery was great. Only got rid of it because of its size & Best Auto. The long waits for appointments, then keeping the car for too long. And giving me back the car with more problems than I sent it in with.

Probably should have waited for the Macan :)

Haha yea I might have to take the SUV plunge in a bit. Would love the Macan myself but currently out of my budget :(
