Is warranty optional on a new vehicle from the firm (as in can you pay less and not take it) if you purchasing cash?
And if you buying cash, can you put it third party with a reputable insurance company?
Yes you can put third party once you buy it cash. Once on loan the bank normally wants fully comp.
What of the warranty?

Thought I was the only one who thought the lancer felt like a boat.
+1 on the Swift sport manual though. The ZC31 models aren't badly priced second hand either.

100% agree. For an enthusiast site you would think more ppl would be into the "fun to drive" factor.
Allergic2BunnyEars wrote:Transmission was never jerky for me. I gather you left it in D and drove it like a slush box auto? As for tyres can you blame the car for that?
Allergic2BunnyEars wrote:I don't know. It's a rental. Can't speak for the tyre on that. New ones are sold with summer tyres but if one doesn't like it then change it as that isn't a permanent feature on any new car.
The fun isn't in D was all I was implying and really it's more a matter of slightly altering how one drives in D and it's back to smooth but didn't want to get into too many details on that.

Anyhoo. My point was it is far from sporty or worth that title in Stock form it was annoying as Fcuk tbh.
So back to the original question I guess the swift sport is the only engaging drivers car within a reasonable budget.
drchaos wrote:Jetta dsg can be jerky and make you think its broken, but mainly when your input is not direct and confusing.
So for example if you at low speed, you push the accelerator with some surety that you are accelerating then quickly let go and then push it again. The transmission will buck like a bronco.
Took me about 2-3 weeks to figure it out and get it smooth. You gotta be direct with it or else the computer has a wtf moment trying to figure out what you want. Also it has become much smoother over the last 2 years with software updates.
Bunny is right you can't drive it like a auto because like a manual you don't have a torque converter to smooth out the input.
There are advantages and disadvantages to this system and you can't write its off from a 1 week rental.
