Weyz...how do they perform overally though???

Basic Dmax apparently on the same level:

Power steering
Power windows
Power locks
Bucket seats
Fabric seats

So i'm guessing no ABS or Airbags either right? :?

Wouldn't it be the other way around?? Easy to get parts=less likely to be stolen.. greater demand for harder to get parts=more likely to be stolen & scrapped..

No. Easy to get part usually means higher demand for those parts

Well not exactly. .. Easy to get parts = more people buying said vehicle creating an even greater demand for said parts which creates an even greater demand for these vehicle.

Hard to get parts = less people buying vehicles of this brand which reduces the demand for said parts which reduces the demand for these vehicles

When I say easy I mean that it is cheap as well as available at almost every parts place

When I say hard I mean that it costs a bit more and you can more or less count the places that you can get the parts you need on both hands

E.g brake pads for a tiida as against brake pads for an A4 or a jetta

There are currently only 3 places I can get brake pads for my euro and one of them is the dealership

The old model bt50.

How much the 4x4 Navara starting at though?? As well as the old model BT-50 provided I decide to put up with SSL and their alleged BS..??

4x4 Navara starting at $215

4x2 Navara without ABS, Airbags and Power windows $168

4x2 Navara with ABS, Airbags and Power windows $183

lol. I expect it to be more but hopefully not that much more. Nissan prices have always been among the lowest.

The new xtrails are pretty reasonably priced compared to the RAV4 and cx7 and it looks pretty good too.

Well M. Rampersad bought the new Navs in (4x4 automatic though) at $308k a piece..compared to their Ford and Toyota counterparts at $289k and $247k respectively..so it's Mr. New Navara now..that CX-7 is ridiculously priced especially for an entry-model..but how does Massy justify that starting price for the T-32 Xtrail..??

Hmmm maybe it's the engine size? Who'd want a t31 xtrail for that price when the t32 is cheaper? That t31 ugly no lie.

Reading the review on the new D-Max..coupled with the decent pricing..I'm liking it more and more.. :D so it's between that the Navara 4x4 Manual or the old BT-50..gonna check Massy and SSL tomorrow..but Lifestyles Web page is impressive..full specs on the vehicle and pricing for different trim levels..while McM, SSL and Massy leave much to be desired..along with their customer service...

So..to answer the question posed earlier..the old model BT-50 is running at $210k inclusive of a $2k bedliner..my mind is made up for the Navara though..4x4, Manual, Fabric is $217k and $222k for leather..the D-Max 4x4 Manual with fabric is about $210k the guy said..but the cabin of the Nav feels more accommodating than both..for $210k the BT-50 is rather bland..and for $35k more I can get its newer counterpart??..nahh..so if you like manual..the Navara is better value for money..

I forgot to mention..the Navara is the LE trim..also, the sales rep said that Massy will be bring in 4 D23's in February next year..just to place in their showrooms, so customers can come and view them and place orders..because of the demand we'll get shipments in May 2015..as for pricing..the rep himself wasn't sure...

Negative on that..$210k for manual and fabric interior..while the rugged looking exterior will get props..the inside is pretty lame IMO..so that $210k..nope..

Had an interesting event with McEnearney Motors
Went into the Ford showroom recently just on a whim and seeing that they had this new impressive looking place. Looked at the Kugas and was told there were two models
Trend -$289,000
Titanium - $359,000
Both have the same engine, AWD etc. Main differences were the Park Assist, Front sensors, Leather seats, Bi Xenon Headlights and rims.

Downloaded the brochure for the Kuga from McEnearney's website as I wanted some more information and saw it was clearly a British brochure advertising three models called the Zetec, Titanium and Titanium X. (These didn't match up to what is here)
How difficult is it for local car dealerships to create a brochure for the models of cars specifically bought here in Trinidad as opposed to putting brochures which show cars with features we don't have or cannot get.

Furthermore this week I was told by a Ford dealer there are actually three models here though
Trend
Trend Plus (Same as Trend but with Leather seats and park assist but no automatic lift gate)
Titanium

None of the vehicles here match with what can be found on other RHD markets such as UK, Australia, RSA or India and we are left with not too informed sales reps to assist us.

You're probably never gonna get an exact match from another market like ours (it's just too small for the manufacturer to care much) but I've always found Australia, Singapore and Malaysia to be closest. in this case I'd recommend Australia the trend and titanium there is pretty close to what we get

Lols..your issue was discussed earlier..
1) we don't get the good stuff..yet we pay 'the good stuff price'..we're halfway through 'TDE' plates..so as someone said earlier..people buying..so keep selling..also the websites are retarded..Lifestyle Motors is the only one who cares enough to update the site to something '21st century' for people to peruse..

I beg to differ. We do get good stuff. Just depends on the manufacturer. We do not get the good stuff generally from the manufacturers that sell in droves.

Care to elaborate..?? Because if the good stuff you're referring to is spacecraft apparel, crims and fake woodgrain, we don't have the good stuff yet..the price we pay for a 'halfway fully loaded' vehicle, is a lot more than what other markets pay in some cases, bearing in mind those vehicles also have more trim levels features, more engine choices..sometimes a better gearbox..(6fwd as opposed to 5) all for a much better price, when compared dollar for dollar..not mention most dealerships outside of Trinidad honour their after-sale commitments..so if this is 'the good stuff '..we have a far way to go..
