I'm doing a mk3 with a 302 myself just looking for some real heads, the 1986 302 heads aren't much good if you're changing the cam to a more aggressive profile(they bounce valves) she will be a beauty will post some pics .The corsair is mine BTW shes getting a ford 2.0l ,44 idf's and an aggressive street/rally cam good for about 200 b hp give or take a few but she's my princess I'm not going to hurt her in any way.I originally was going to put a 302 in it but couldn't bring myself to defile such well preserved antique metal on the firewall and floor.I prayed to the FORD CAR GODS and they said no v8 or rice ,4 cylinder NA.

Honestly nigie The steering box was in the way of the exhaust and the linkages were in the way of the sump and I not in the mood to convert the steering and change over the struts since the steering linkage is at the rear of the strut and i need then in front ,the guy who did the peranas in south Africa switched the struts left to right and modified the suspension quite efficiently .The other option is to convert to escort or any other suspension.I NOT IN THE MOOD FOR THAT SHEIT RIGHT NOW ,so we staying 4 banger with the blessings from the car gods after praying to them they demanded the sacrifice of two cortina carcasses and a gallon of 40 wt. engine oil , they promptly blessed me with as perfect a mark 3 corty that currently exists anywhere for my 302 .

In reality its five of us responsible for the cars I just post the pics,They'll be tickled to hear that they have fans,You'll probably smile at the fact that my 302 was originally for the grey hillman hunter but they changed their minds for whatever reason

why do people paint the engine bays in a different color to the rest of the car?

there is a nice hunter in waren on the old southern main road before cunupia, a light yellow under a house.

hold on i think i have a pic.

Blood ,Sweat ,Tears, sander with a wire brush ..the soft brass colored one,the silver twirled one a little too stiff, and mandatory face shield ,long sleeves ( that's the sweat)and long pants. Those brush bristles go in your skin without your knowing (that where the blood came from) and when you shower then you find them (tears). The process is faster than you imagine the engine bay took about 2.5 to 3 hours total. No need for expensive corrosive chemicals .Word of caution though those bristles let go easily and often ,and do really get into your skin.Use protection and have fun
