New Colorado is coming in later this year and will be cheaper than the current one.....there will be 6 options to choose from. Their resale value may be low but the vans are very roomy and comfortable, the body is quite solid, tailgate real nice and sturdy, reverse cam, bedliner, bluetooth etc comes standard, the same things other stealerships charge thousands extra for. Sales guy still didn't convince though, not one time did he mention resale value or engine longevity.

They gave me this story since august 2013...promising that the 6 models would be in by december 2013.....and they would be cheaper....This obviously never happened.....
Reverse cam and sensors are easy to install and not expensive.....bedliner also may be standard with other dealers once u negotiate for it and bluetooth also is standard in other models......so these extra features cant convince me.......plus its the izusu dmax engine which suppose to really really extra noisy........which may not be a selling point...

Ah but allu fellas forgetting ... nothing says resale like a toyotah !!!

Only way you could convince me to buy that was if I was a government minister! Buy at 400K keep for 2 years and sell at 600K.

Agreed, Prado is ugly. Must give props to Toyota Trinidad though, bring in an SUV give a couple govt ministers them to drive, automatically gets branded as a luxury vehicle, sell it for nearly a million...

To be fair the Land cruiser and the toreg start off around the same price in the UK. Like about 4K GBP difference, with the toreg being more expensive

Prado price increased now, due to the facelift and the new MVT. The VX is around $820K and the VXL around $900K IIRC.

but one thing with a Prado, it never calls for parts and the vehicle holds a good resale... better than any SUV in that price bracket.

Yep. Love those suv. That and the fortuner, it can carry a fully loaded family. Can go anywhere and never calls for parts and would last a lifetime.

lulz at Prado never calling for parts, know of 3 mileage under 200k that a/c gone thru, fridge gone thru, another the brake booster gone thru and another the axle broke and these are 2005 and up. The "leather" also cracks

No matter to Government Ministers and their cohorts.......price irrelevant as they will still make a BIG profit at taxpayers expense in two years time.....but that's their benefit........Prados will sell for sure....

reliability yes but i dont hear ppl complaining about land rovers et al any more than prados...just trini mindset again....compare the interior of a prado to a land rover, especially the 2014 model, even the q7, and tell me prado worth the difference because it reliable...and honestly you ever look at a prado? i mean really look at it? as far as the qashqai thats one of the two vehicles nissan makes that i really really love...something about it is really different and attractive, and good looking which is a shocker for nowadays nissan...think versa, juke  :( :(

TTTL main customer for Prado's is the GORTT. No need to be competitive when you have a sure sale!

I'll buy a Benz ML350 for less than $900k.

Prado/Land Cruiser is a workhorse. The only thing luxurious is the price. But it will keep going for a long, long time. If someone actually wants to beat old roads in reasonable comfort it's a good buy. And as stated it will hold value more than its German rivals. It's a local anomaly.
