It has that unisex appeal to it, especially in Sport/AMG trim.

Quick questions guys....do you all support a decision to open our market to more Chinese and Indian car dealers in T&T? If so do you think it will contribute to increase price competitiveness especially amongst the Jap and Korean crowd?

Why not. More competition the better for us. It may take a lifetime for them to be taken seriously an options for the average joe though.

As in indian and chinese dealers, do you mean competition for neal and massy selling jap an korean cars? Or do you mean indian and chinese car companies like great wall and tata?

sorry I meant their manufacturers with supporting dealerships here. AMCO is already selling DFM and Great Wall so the market should open up a bit more.

Nah they won't chinese automakers need another 15 to 20 years to catch up in tech and reliability to their jap, euro and korean counterparts. Then they may need another 20 years to get rid of perception.

One of the managers where I work just purchased a ford titanium and I must say its a lovely car for the price $230k and to top it off he got 5 years free parts and service labour, yes u heard me the only thing that he will have to pay for himself is the tires. Brakes free, sensor gone free, oil filter fluids free, seat rip changing it for free. It's some kinda agreement they have down here with ford he really has me thinking about buying a focus now with that kind of warranty yes.. Will post pics in a bit

Sounds good and all but you have to finance your car via ANSA Merchant bank which i heard (but never confirmed) has really high rates. Coupled with the fact that deep down in my heart i know nothing from a business conglomerate is free esp. in Trinidad

And I cant believe that if i rip up my car seats they will fix it for free without some kind of catch!

New qashqai looking good. Engines might be turbo charged as well 1.2 and 1.6 charged petrol engines.

Does the focus and the fiesta locally come with Fords Dual Clutch Transmission? VW is knocked for reliability of their DCT but Ford's version is supposed to be worse.

the only 2 things the focus missing locally is the ecoboost engine and a sunroof. Combine those 2 with a price hike of say 20k and I still think its an excellent deal with the free insurance/service combo!

yes the focus 1.6 non turbo has the 6-speed dual clutch.

Benz CLA: $370k.

I would go for the CLA over the C Class.

Any idea how much the CLA would cost with the Sports Package?

Image

CLA is unproven in our conditions.
Front wheel drive (new for Merc sedan) and DCT (dual clutch) could have reliability problems.
Wait for any issues to be ironed out and buy a 2nd Generation model.

It looks good in the pic though

Couple of things with the CLA....its good for two small people in the back...lacks headroom....and the drive is a bit on the firm side although a bit longer and wider than the C-Class . The interior is well appointed and exudes a bit more sportiness over the present C-Class,however the central display is a bit out of place and looks like an afterthought. No gear lever takes some getting used too but a plus is that you will never know this is a front wheel drive machine when driven hard.Engine noise is a bit on the high side.

In the earlier Audi models, the S line could have been speced and ordered from SS. It's no longer an option.....the S lines were just the body kits and the interior....but not the high performance engine and suspension. The S line kits were costly, and as such fell out of favour.

They bring the S-line, but not the S-series, say the S4, S5 etc.

But you can get the S-line A4, A6, Q7 etc.

I actually know someone who purchased an Audi S5 through SS. Of course a special order. But thats the only one I know.

S-line exterior body kit is available on the Q5 but, as a special order item. Neither the Ambition or the Prestige come with it standard.
