Yea, thats something good to do, after sometime when i had the supra, i left mines and the rustyness just decided to fall constantly, ended up removing it and painting it silver, reason being is when i used to go flash light under there to check some stuff, it helped brighten the harness areas that was clipped into it.

wow that's a thick core. Boy I faced the same vent trimming issue beucase I didn' have the N1 rebar.
Trim the rebar instead and not the vent, blasted thing for fragile for OE. I was surprised it was a FRP part.

y'know... I always say the next car I buy after the VII is a Mk4 supra but watching this car progress it's making me think of an R32.

The Mk4 is a great looking car with a heritage like the R32. This has nothing to do with Nissan vs Toyota I just think the R32 is a more balanced car being able to compete with less work in non straight line activity withstanding making power I'm talking about drive-ability.

Well received my rear inner windscreen molding, so now I just have to get the front windscreen next month and have both front and rear removed and replaced with the new trimming. Next things coming in are Trust oil cooler and oil filter relocator, braided brakelines, cusco brake cylinder stopper and Nismo floor mats. Another setback, dropped the rear subframe and what I thought was an abundance of sealant in the rear wheel well turned out to be a lot of rust. I poked the screwdriver and it went straight through. I began ripping the sealant off that revealed the issue, looked at the other side and sure enough identical rotting, seems like the norm with this age of vehicle. Well what can I do it needs to be repaired and I am not gonna cut corners, it is gonna be cut and cleaned and then prepped to be repaired and treated and primed and then sealed and painted. Here are a couple pics so far of the progress.

Some inspiration to keep me going,

In other news I modded the old R32 lighter setup for a newer S15 one that I have somethign in store for, the R32 one literally fell apart in my hands. The lighter in the R32 are if a different length to the S15 so you need the entire cartridge swapped.

Okay decided to tackle the rear subframe I had in the back, scrapped the nismo arms, differential, knuckles and got it doen to a bare frame with the help of a fellow tuner, thanks Kirt. Also swung by Rasheed in pasea to pickup some much needed replacement connectors and some other stuff to try and update the R32 somewhat. Some pics,

Nismo arms apparently have some more adjustment and and that nice silver colour and expensive stickers and they are bracketed to the underneath,

Okay sorry about the updates, a bit has been happening. Since scrapping the subframe and trying to remove the bushings, I realized the bushings were Nismo pieces and in good condition. I took the frame to be bracketed, reason being that the stock R32 came equipped with HICAS (rear steering), half which was already removed so I did the cancellation the right way and already have the HICAS cancel bar. Plan is to get an R33 GTR pump and bracket and do it proper. The bracketing is to further strengthen the frame as the frame with HICAS allowed the the frame to flex somewhat, so as all the HICAS is being removed I am stiffening the frame for now flex and better response. I got back the frame and sent it immediately to be blasted, along with the front frame. When it comes back it will be painted as I am not sure how much and how long it will take to powdercoat them. Will go back with standard black to go with the silver arms for now until I can afford iKeya fully adjustable arms. Weekend I will open the diff and see if I indeed have an upgraded one like I was told.

As for the damage under the car, I had Marcus from TG Motorsports come over to assess the damage and he said get the car up and running and he will repair it all for a fair price. He will use his plasma cutter and make short work of the bad stuff and replace with proper piece and also fix the front lower damaged seam and also drill out the chassis rails and straighten and refit them. I will be more than happy with this. Now onto my list of goodies to grace the shores hopefully before Christmas, I went overboard in the last couple of weeks, here is the list, Trust oil cooler and oil filter relocator, Ganador mirrors, Cusco BMC Stopper, Braided Brakelines, Headlights to replace the scratched ones I had, Trust Gracer rear spats, Custom Grill, ATi Crankshaft Damper Pulley and one other accessory. I am broken but happy with my purchases, should be a nice Christmas thanks to me . Pics will follow whenever they arrive. Next on the agenda, AEM management, injectors and fuel lines and fittings.

No major updates, TG Motorsports came and saw the work that needs doing to the chassis rails and the rear wheels well areas along with the driver side under fender area. Car should be wrecked to his place tomorrow and from there when I get it back I want to remove the rear windscreen and front windscreen and refit with the new inner and outer mouldings. My items from Japan have been shipped and have a bit of stuff coming in, namely, Trust Oil Cooler setup, Ganador mirrors, Custom Grill (not sure if I will like it but we'll see), Cusco BMC Stopper, Braided Brakelines, Aluminum Transmission Bushings, Gracer Rear Spats to give the car a different look, replacement Headlights cause mine as too scratched up and one or two other things.

Have some other things as well tha tI will be getting in time for Christmas. TG said it should take a day or two to do the work and get the vehicle back to me as which point I will begin to fix do my thing. I am gonna begin work on the subframes and start to connect everything so when the car comes back I can begin to fit stuff. I am currently saving for Management (AEM Series II), injectors, coilpack setup, fuel lines and fittings. I still have to drop the oil sump again from the engine to fit some more fittings for my catchcan setup and also need to get the intake manifold polished.

I also opened the rear diff but it is stock, so may be in the market later on for upgraded front and rear diffs, maybe a set of ATS but when that time comes. So that's kinda of the update, not too much just the waiting game for now, hoping for a good first quarter.

Car went today so hoping for delivery on Wednesday and then my build can commence. Much to get prepped and hoping that my parts come in just in time to get things up and running. Hoping to get my management and injectors soon as well. More pieces to the puzzle.

Re: TriniGT's Project R32 GTR - We Have Paint!!!

Okay visited Marcus at Tg Motorsports to see some progress, all looked fine, chassis rails fixed and patching done, but inside was a bit frightening at first, but after he explained then I kind of relaxed. So the idea is that the chassis rail is the strengthening in the car so he didn't want to remove and straighten it so he decided to cut the flooring at the top to tackle the chassis, rail so imagine my face when he showed me the inside busted, I was like wtf. But then he explained that between the chassis rails and the seat rails everything is safe. So the plan now is to plate the inside flooring and weld it off entirely and then all that is left to do is fix the under panel behind the driver side front fender. When the car comes back I can then treat proper and spray the inner metal areas to stop future rusting and then paint and underseal.

Car should be home tomorrow, so the work commences soon. Got one package in, so far I have, Ganador mirrors, replacement headlights, custom grill and cooling panel (not sure if I like it too much but we'll see), Nizmo lighter :D and ATi damper, pics later on.

Okay got the car back a couple of days ago with most everything in good order, the interior buttoned up and the underneath in decent order with all rust areas fixed, will get some thorough pics soon.

You can see where it was patched at the lower driverside sill area and under the front fender as well.

Interior welded shut, now just to lube the inside to help with future rusting,
