Gosh...alyuh making me feel to never buy a new car again, i feel when i pay off the loan for my Focus i'd hadda keep it till i die yes lol.

Btw, the inone thing with Ansa is pretty good, i had no issues so far with Mcearney and their service dept. it's always done quickly, car nice n clean when i get it back, i never paid one cent to them for any service with the inone, insurance came in the mail, i didn't have to do anything.

Have a friend who bought a City from Honda(inone), car had fine scratches on it when she went to pick it up, took em a few days to fix it, luckily they gave her free tint for d issue plus the inconvenience, but i mean, i saw where they store their cars on ariapita right off of colville, i mean really? place looks a junk yard...i tell no wonder it had scratches, some cyat prob. went n walk all over the car, they have BMW's park up under some sheds looking like a vagrant own it..lol...

I agree the dealerships will find a way to increase prices by using this duty change.
I am looking forward to the new Audi A3 sedan maybe a 1.4tfsi or 1.8tfsi heck I'll may even splurge on the 2.0tdi.
Anybody have any news on when this will be available, might be the last vehicle I purchase for a long time.

Does it really make sense to spend extra on a diesel vehicle upfront? How much driving would you have to do for the price difference between that and a 2.0tsi to be justified?

My reasoning for the diesel atm I spend just about $500 a week on fuel (premium) for my A4, I recently put my hands on a 2013 Hyundai Tuscon Diesel 4x4 and I am impressed, its no Audi but its fuel consumption, diesel as we all know provides better mpgs but it cut my fuel bill from $500 to $70 same amount of driving and same driving style.
Its just about variety and I wont mind a diesel option already have petrol, trying something different.

1.8 or 2.0 tfsi? $500 a week with aggressive driving sounds like 1.8t. Usually I compare apples to apples as much as possible. Is the Tucson turbo diesel? Anyways are you planning to sell the a4 then buy the Tucson?

Sell the who, love my A4, Its the b7 1.8t only with a little remap was looking to get a b8 S line 2.0 but the new A3 has peaked my curiosity. The driving is not necessarily aggressive but its alot of mixed between city(traffic) and highway(traffic).
As for the Tuscon its non turbo 2.0L CRDi A/T 4x4, received it couple of weeks aback, I must it runs really well very peppy down low (torque) there is room for improvement but from where the Tuscon began great improvement. Not something you will sell your Euro,it just had me thinking a diesel Audi Saloon may not be a bad choice.

Ok so you'd keep your euro and have the Tucson as a second vehicle? Or you'd consider selling the 1.8tsi to get an Audi diesel? If the latter, what's the price of an A4 2.0 TDI locally?

the Tucson has already been added to the stable.

acesinghit the version I have is not turbocharged, the 1.7l diesel is.

Allergic2BunnyEars last time I spoke to my rep he stated it would be a special ordered but could not give a price.

Personally I hold onto my vehicles, I save until I can afford to purchase without the need of selling my older vehicles they tend to come in handy, they may be depreciable assets but they are assets non the less.

Oh Ok. I thought you were contemplating going either or. Seems like you can afford either option really. I am no longer sure what the question is :)
Do you want the performance of your current A4 but with the price of diesel fuel?

Aside from taxi and transport, vehicles are not assets.

DJ Q that's what I thought however banks look at it differently.

Allergic2BunnyEars you hit the nail on the head I want the luxury minus this administration's additional "it only affects 6%" full up tax.

I disagree. A vehicle is an asset, the degree of which depends on the equity stake you have on it (for those purchased via loan).

Remember your assets = capital + liabilities

Also consider the fact that for those who say a vehicle is a depreciating asset which is true please remember that there is an opportunity cost associated with the scenario of not owning the said vehicle.

In short:

An Asset brings money
A Liability costs money

The banks label it an asset because it's an asset to THEM, not to YOU.

luckily for me I am loan free, I hope to keep it that way. I've been told it's time to take a break,I am never not working even if I'm home I'm still working and I'm on call 24/7 for my job.

Finding a balance is key, if you don't see the value in an item don't purchase it, be smart with your money, I could never justify purchasing a new Toyota, etc. locally due to their prices. Don't be afraid to hold out and shop around

As posted before I see my vehicles as a wasting asset however it is one I am willing to keep, it is an investment to me and my family and ensures we are somewhat comfortable and it one of the only hobbies I truly enjoy. 8-)

Pretty sure that Tucson is a turbo diesel. N&M have only 2.0 n/a petrol and 2.0 turbo diesel

Well in that case compare the price of the petrol version to that of the tdi and see how long you would have to use the tdi with cheaper diesel to justify it's higher initial price tag. Things you know already I'm sure. One other thing would be that the tdi is never as fast as the tsi but I guess 90% of the fun factor might be worth it.

Sorry I don't read to good (brochures, manual, etc.)

Going and enjoy a $35 dollar full up.

What I do know, all pickups going up in price. Navara 4x4 auto dual cab with leather might be $300k now. A loaded Hilux could cost $350k. The 3.2 Ranger/BT-50 could hit $360k range. Those Porsche, MB, BMW and Land Rover SUV's will spike up as well.

RBC smell the rat and offering 7 year loan periods now. Just now we'll see 8 years normal.

Navara is 2488cc ..... why would the price go up?

have the new model tucson went in for 20k service told them car driving lil sluggish they changed transimission fluid without my consent and then buss my head on cost...no problem...took the car home went to class that evening and drove back into my yard in the night..went and sleep.
Woke up next morning to realize on the road in-front my house from about ten houses away is a line of transmission fluid leading up to my car which is now in a puddle of transmission fluid, Was dark so i never noticed wheni got home.
Jes to realize these fools did not tighten their hoses when they finished changing the fluid. After about 5 calls they agree they will take it in fix the problem and run "diagnostic"" but u know after all that what was d kick in the @$$? the blasted manager asking me if my insurance will pay for the flatbed to bring it in. ( Told him i will check with them hung up the phone on him called him right back and said NO)

after that i i fraid them and the people they have working on their cars

Volkswagen Golf TGI - 1.4 turbo charged engine, both CNG and gasoline tanks onboard, does not eat into trunk space as tanks are under the car, CNG range is 420 km, Gas range 940 km (probably best driving estimates), very practical award winning platform/car.

Germany seems to going down the route of CNG also as its a cheap fuel, lots of it, less polluting with no sulphur and other benzene compounds.

If BEST AUTO can convince VW to send this car here at a reasonable price they would be finding themselves at an excellent position in this Bullish Trini car market.

Supposed to be out in europe by the end of the year!

Is the CNG so low because of the size of the tanks that they're using? apart from that. I'll prefer that it comes factory fitted with the cng tanks as opposed to local installations. Nothing against the local installers etc, however, if anything does go wrong the local dealerships can't say that they won't 'honour' warranty because there was a 'foreign' setup etc.

Aren't we supposed to be getting a tax break on vehicles fitted with factory installed CNG kits. Those dealerships taking forever ..... Then again, if and when they do, we'll end up paying so much more it may not make a difference.

I think that beat the Versa hands down as the ugliest new car in T&T.

Sometimes one wonders what goes on in the meetings where approval is given for taking these designs into production.
