Basically what I am saying is despite the common platform the Focus is still a stronger/better built car than the Mazda. One way to prove this statement is to drive one or simply be driven in one. Thanks for keeping it mature.
Anyway, just to note I heard within some circles today that this mid-term 2013 budget presentation may have a couple unpopular decisions made in respect to vehicle purchasing/ownership. Speculation on adjustments for:
1) fuel
2) Duty
3) MVT
4) transfer tax
With excess liquidity in the economy, borrowing is becoming more competitive and thus new vehicle sales may keep at a steady pace. Blaming higher overheads especially in logistics mean car prices will continue to rise. 2014 may be the year we see a $300k+ Civic. No wonder why PCZ crack 8000+ already. People afraid of budget 2013.

Apparently we do produce low sulphur diesel high quality diesel but its more profitable for them to sell it abroad rather than sell here. They supposed to have another plant coming on stream soon but who knows if they will set for export or for local consumption.

MadCrix wrote:So just did my 20k service. Cost 2100 the previous services were between 700 and 900. Every 20k is about 2100 all others as 600-900
Still satisfied with service
I noticed the steering wheel started to feel rough. On inspection the top later of the leather steering wheel was rubbing off. I informed the service agent and lwdt my car to service saying for a new car that not acceptable. I got a call back later that day saying the wheel would be replaced under warranty no cost to me. However not in stock so they ordered it.
Good service so far
Will post pic later

Direct inject, new dome shaped pistons and less friction in the engine. The new transmissions sound really amazing also. They have torque converters for use only when crawling or starting from stop. Beyond that they have a automated clutch for direct connection to the drive train. In addition to all that they have a mechatronics unit that does the gear shift for smart/blazing fast speeds ... Is like having a auto/manual/dual clutch transmission all in one with some trade offs but lots of advantages. Body and chassis supposed to be lighter and stiffer.
Don't think any other Japanese brand keeping up with mazda in the tech .... They almost starting to feel euro ...
