How would you rate the new 2012 Nissan Versa based on looks, interior & proformance?

Maybe it's the angle at which that pic was taken, but it doesn't look right at all. The Hatchback stands a chance to be reasonably attractive but that Camry bamsee on the sedan looks horrible.

This guy bought one for his wife. It really does look Yaris-like.

Had a look at one this week while scoping out the new soata and elantra up close: absolutely hideous... the ugly Tiida sedan still is better looking than this in my opinion

I didn't like it at first, but it's a design that needs to grow on you, I see one particular one on the highway on a mornings that I thought was ugly at first but it is definitely a step up from what it has replaced, and I think everyone would like it the more they see it, like I have.

Nissan engineers trimmed more than 150 pounds from the platform while reducing the parts count by 20 percent. They also simplified the engine lineup, dropping the optional 122-hp, 1.8-liter four. The redesigned 1.6-liter four-cylinder has an aluminum block and head and a molded-plastic intake manifold. The bore, the stroke, the compression ratio, and the 6500-rpm redline are unchanged from 2011’s 1.6. Citing cost as the obvious concern, this engine is still port- instead of direct-injected, although the number of injectors has been doubled from four to eight in the interest of a more efficient spray pattern to foster complete combustion.

The Versa’s interior suffers from granite-hard surfaces and flagrant cost cutting. The strut-type front suspension, the torsion-beam rear axle, and the rear drum brakes are engineered for dependable long-haul service not driving euphoria. That means your time behind the wheel will inspire no thoughts of touring the French Riviera in a Porsche Boxster. But a Nissan Versa will probably keep you on your commuting schedule for just pennies per mile, which is the whole idea behind driving a cheap new car instead of rolling the dice with a used ride.

Just another b14/ 15/ Almera

Looks - The front is okay. The side profile and back just highlight the "fat ass" look like the Sylphy. Nissan went backwards with this design.

Interior - Typical Nissan cheap interior full of hard touch plastics.

Performance - No comments as I have not driven one.

Nissan is just churning out very ugly economy cars these days.

I went in to have a look at it at N&M recently it is $149,000. It has a 1.5 engine..music control on the steering wheel, It is very roomy inside indeed. There is another option for 18k more with nicer rims and a fancer touch screen pioneer deck. I am having a major problem with the wind up windows in the back tho. When all the other cars in this class and price range are giving full auto windows..wtf N&M?!

Is this it, or the Versa/Tiida? Asking because a Tiida vs Sunny Discussion emerged when I posted on my FB even though it's "Sunny" badged.
