Terry Sayther Automotive is proud to offer this 1972 BMW 3.0 CSL, VIN # 2211372. This lIghtweight version of the 3.0CS was built for homologation for racing in the German Touring Car Championship series, & only about 170 of the early non-injected CSL's were produced. Lighter weight was acheived through the use of thinner body panels, aluminum trunk lid, hood, & doors, fiberglass rear bumper, deleted front bumper, & plastic rear windows. The aluminum hood on this carhad been replaced with a steel hood prior to our ownership. Unique to the CSL are Scheel racing seats, no power steering, no AC or heater, no sound deadening, the infamous bat wing (currently not installed, but in storage), front air dam, chrome fender lip extensions, air guide above the rear window, black rubber air guides on the front fenders, hood pins, black headliner, & fixed rear windows.

Below is a link to the ///M Registry's 3.0CSL FAQ entailing the differences between the standard 3.0CS, & CSL variant. http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=1#2

Terry originally acquired the CSL in the mid 80's, & it had been repainted in blue at that time. He had it painted back to the original color (Golf yellow), & it has been in Terry's personal collection ever since. The car came to us with an incorrect engine, which we removed & replaced with a twin cam 4 valve Motorsport 3.5l S38 & close ratio 5spd from a Euro M635CSi. Radiator & other cooling system components are new. The car currently has large swaybars, Bilstein shocks/struts, Split Second MAF conversion, & Alpina staggered wheels (8x16" & 7x16") with new Sumitomo HTR series tires. This car turns more heads then just about anything else out there, but it is not a concourse show car. The car makes great power, & you can break the tires free easily in 2nd gear. The car has been garage kept, starts & drives with no issues, & would be fine to take on a cross country road trip.

oooh
more historic bmw
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... K:MEWAX:IT
Ultra rare 1980 BMW M1 offered for sale represents an exclusive opportunity to acquire a true car icon in superb condition. One of only 456 cars produced. Unprecedented one owner car in original condition with only 4418 km or 2745 miles converted. This is quite possibly one of the lowest mile M1's in the world. It is the most desirable color in Henna red with charcoal interior. Completely stock condition and unrestored.

Garaged for all of its life and pampered in Europe specifically in a German private residence and recently imported after its 25 year minimum age requirement in the US was surpassed.

This is the ultimate BMW that you cannot pass up. It is the one car you will want to add to your private collection.

A proposed Group 5 'Silhouette Formula' for production-based cars triggered the 'M1' programme in the mid-1970s, a mid-engined concept car designed in-house at BMW by Paul Bracq providing the basis. Ex-racing driver Jochen Neerpasch was responsible for initiating this ambitious project, whose aims included taking on rivals Porsche in the World Sportscar Championship and, ultimately, victory at Le Mans. Development was contracted first to Lamborghini and then to Giorgetto Giugiaro's ItalDesign, although almost all cars ended up being finished in Germany.

Giugiaro's compact coupé bodywork in glassfibre was wrapped around a multi-tubular spaceframe chassis, while a twin-overhead-cam, four-valves-per-cylinder, race-developed version of BMW's 3.5-litre six, driving via a dog leg five-speed ZF transaxle, provided the motive power. The wedge-shaped coachwork proved highly efficient aerodynamically, needing very little in the way of additional spoilers and wings in race configuration. Lamborghini's Gianpaolo Dallara was responsible for developing the suspension, which followed racing practice by using unequal-length wishbones at front and rear. Soberly trimmed in black and grey, the interior was exceptionally well equipped for a sports car, featuring Recaro seats, air conditioning, electric windows, remotely operated door mirrors and heated rear screen.

Lamborghini's withdrawal from the project complicated the production process, which involved the space-frame being built by Marchesi and the glass-fibre-reinforced plastic body shell by TIR, both in the Italian town of Modena. ItalDesign then assembled these two units and added the interior trim and equipment. From there the car went to Stuttgart, where Karosserie Baur fitted all the mechanical systems and components.

First shown at the Paris Motor Show in 1978, the road-going version came with 277bhp and a top speed of 160mph, making it Germany's fastest production sports car. By that time the car had acquired the model designation 'M1', standing for the first car developed and built by BMW Motorsport GmbH. BMW's long awaited new supercar was rapturously received; one American enthusiast was reported to have ordered three, which was perhaps all the more surprising given the price: DM 100,000, enough to buy four BMW 323i models with enough left over for some optional extras.

Only ever intended as a limited-edition model, the M1 ceased production after only 445 examples had been built, a minimum of 400 being required for homologation. In the event, the abandonment of the Group 5 Silhouette Formula robbed the car of its raison d'être, though the M1-only Procar Series run at Formula 1 Grand Prix races provided BMW Motorsport with a valuable showcase by way of consolation, Niki Lauda winning in 1979 and Nelson Piquet in 1980. In the USA the M1 dominated the 1981 IMSA GTO Championship, Dave Cowart's example winning 12 out of the 16 races. It was a fitting sign-off at the end of the M1's final year of production.

An important landmark in BMW's history, and in particular of its involvement with motor sport in the post-war era, the M1 is already highly collectible and is surely destined to become increasingly sought after by discerning aficionados of the marque.

Full records and documentation included with sale. Clean title and currently registered. Car is in excellent condition mechanically.

Offered here, is a 1959 Datsun 1000 Sedan. This vehicle is one of approximately twenty classic cars out of a automobile collection I am liquidating in Birmingham, AL. The car runs a 4 cylinder engine matched to a 3-on-the-tree manual transmission. The car has had a prior repaint. The chrome grill and bumpers are very presentable. Rust was noticed on the door wind-wing posts. The front original windshield glass is delaminating. The back window has been replaced with plastic so a stock window will need to be located and installed. The upholstery is in average condition. The car needs a clock, both courtesy lights and a D/S door lock mechanism.

imagine having this to knock about in!!!!!!
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 1513104421

Up for Auction is an EXTREMELY RARE 1968 Toyota Corona RT-55 1600 GT-5 Coupe. This model is the ultimate sportscar in the shovel nose series of Coronas sharing many components with the famous 2000GT.

This car has had an absolute fortune spent on it being fitted out for historic racing in Japan, no corners have been cut and the end result is nothing less than impressive! It is running it's original 9R twin cam motor (which I have receipts for a full rebuild in Japan, but I am not sure how much work it has done since) with twin Mikuni Solex carburettors and it runs absolutely beautifully. Instant, strong oil pressure and tuned perfectly. Gearbox is a five speed I think out of a celica or supra. Rims are alluminium and race tyres are pretty good, fuel cell in the boot, full bolted cage - (May require modification for Aus standards) and fire extinguishers on passenger side floor.

It is virtually ready to race or display as is. At the same time it would still convert back to a road car for the enthusiest. Nothing has been butchered, only things removed. I have most of the essential and unique 1600GT parts with the car inc the 1600GT speedo and tacho, rear 1600GT badge, 1600GT high back seats the same as in a 2000GT, the door trims are still intact, I also have the front and rear bumpers. Most parts other wise will interchange with a standard RT-40 or RT-51S.

The Body is faultless and was stripped to a bare shell when built back up. There is no evidence of ANY crash damge or rust in it anywhere and it is dead straight and everything fits nicely.

The car will also come with a spare set of windscreens, also an electronic lap timer and a box of odds and ends inc spare tail lights. I am going to go through the shed and see exactly what I do have for it.

The car had been circuit racing in Japan and enjoyed considerable success. I imported it about two and a half years ago as part of my personal collection with Tarmac rallies in mind but have never actually got it out in anger. The few runs I have had in it down the road definately prove it's impressive pace and solid running gear, it really does get up and go with the right foot applied! I have also looked over it a few times and thought the body is so good that it should go back to a road car. It has always been shedded and started every now and then and brought up to temp.

Up for auction is Great example of a 1984 Mazda Rx7 GSL-SE. 145,202 k miles on the odometer. I still have a tag on it. I drive this car during the week to work sometimes. The body has been customized. Has rear Toyota Supra tail lights in the rear, has flush mount transparent head clear lights, red door lights inside, has side porsche 911 vent behind the doors, rear louver fiberglass hatchback, rear painted supra high wing, custom side black mirrors(non electric),chrome evo rims, has front spoiler(fog lights not hooked up yet),rear valance, has a L.E.D. red light installed in the drivers door only, has a porsche hood scoop moulded into the hood, has a 2 porsche windshield nozzle mounted on the cowl. The suspension is very tight and handles well. The car is a white color paint with burgandy leather. The body is in almost perfect shape with the exception of a couple minor rust spots. The power steering is not working,i think its the hose that it connects to is leaking,i had another pump put on. The windows roll up & down kinda slow, may need some work to get them to roll up& down faster. The heat works good. The black rag top is in good shape, its still black in color, not faded. Both seats i had done years ago, both are in good shape. The dash is near perfect clean condition. All gauges and dash accessories work. Has a sony mini disc stereo and a very load,PPI amp,12" sub woofers & more. All lights work as they should. The a/c belt is connected, but the ac pump is leaking, but everything is there. The tires are in great shape .The undercarriage is in good shape. If you have any questions please feel free to me . I reserve the right to end the auction early due to the fact that the vehicle is for sale locally in North Carolina-USA.
THIS CAR IS MY PROJECT BUT UNFORTUNETLY I WONT BE ABLE TO FINISH IT. THE CAR IS RUNNING GOOD CONDITION. THE CAR HAS GOOD INTERIOR,THERE MAYBE MINOR RUST ON IT. I AM SELLING CAR AS IS CONDITION. THE GEAR BOX SHIFT GOOD FIRST,SECOND,THIRD,FOURTH GEAR,BUT 5TH GEAR IS MAKING NOISE.
I HAVE A GSL-SE PARTS CAR THAT GO'S WITH IT(MOTOR NOT INCLUDED)
IT HAS A TRANNY IN IT,BUT I DON'T KNOW THE CONDITION OF IT. I WON IT IN EBAY YEARS AGO. I BOUGHT IT FROM A GUY IN NORTH CAROLINA.

THIS IS NOT A TURBO CAR,ITS A NON TURBO CAR! IT JUST HAS A TURBO EMBLEM
ON IT FOR LOOKS.

We often get asked for advice on the best starter collectables—cars that can be purchased for not a lot of money and enjoyed with a minimum of fussing. This 1978 Datsun 280Z certainly qualifies. With just 48,010 original miles and a cosmetic freshening, it’s a handsome car that delivers a vintage driving experience that’s easy to use in today’s traffic. If you’re looking for a fun, sporty, unusual driver that will always get people talking, it’s hard to do better than this. The paint was refinished a few years ago in the original dark green color, and compared to all the silver and black Z cars you see out there, it’s a classic combination that looks remarkably good on the curvaceous sheetmetal. It’s very clean and there are no obvious signs of rust or previous damage, making this the ideal car for a first-time buyer who isn’t looking for a project. The purity of the original Z-car’s shape is undeniably attractive, and the classic long nose profile is more Jaguar E-Type than Datsun functional. The rubber bumpers remain in good condition with no cracking or fading, and the rear window slats haven’t been damaged by the sun’s UV rays. The only deviation from original specification is a unique grill guard up front that was most likely a dealer-installed accessory. The camel tan interior is 100% original and given the low mileage on the car, it’s easy to see why it’s in such good condition. The seats show only moderate wear, with no splits or tears in the material, and the foam underneath remains firm and comfortable. All the gauges are fully functional, the A/C blows ice cold, and an Alpine stereo features new door speakers. The only demerit might be the carpets, which are showing their age, but a professional clean-up might work wonders, and replacements are inexpensive and easy to find. In back, the cargo bay offers plenty of room. Datsun knew that the 280Z needed to be competitive, so the 2.8 liter inline-six is a gutsy powerplant that revs smoothly and delivers impressive torque. Thanks to fuel injection, it starts and idles beautifully, and pulls through the gears with a musical tenor that you’ll enjoy every time you fire it up. The engine bay is tidy and clean, showing signs of conscientious maintenance throughout its life, and all the many hoses are in good condition. The 4-speed manual slips through the gears almost telepathically, and the light clutch feels new. It rolls on a handsome set of aluminum alloys wearing 195/70/14 Yokohamas. The same things that made the original Z-car popular when it was new makes it a fabulous collector piece today: great performance, fun handling, and reliable mechanicals. This car needs nothing to be enjoyed immediately, and could be easily upgraded over time, thanks to a thriving aftermarket. Introduce yourself to the purity of driving that comes from a well-balanced chassis and an engine that can make the most of it. Call today!
