Let's see .... typical euro, lights are always blowing ... One time the left from headlight stopped working and an examination revealed the freaking harness melted into the fuse box and had to be replaced.

The Intake manifold (plastic) recently had to be replaced due to some valve not opening / closing correctly. Because it's rubbish plastic, they change them vs repair ... All the 2.0 TSi motors are prone to this every 30000K or so ... Lots of reports on the gti forums (same engine). Google for more info.

The electronic parking brake module had to be replaced after it stopped working.

The gas gauge reader stopped working and had to be replaced.

I forget the rest ... thank God it's not my vehicle. I would have crashed it for the insurance.

Keep in mind this is a PCM vehicle not driven every day ... By comparison my TCM Ranger has had zero issues has twice the mileage and is used daily.

Im glad that wasn't my car.

My PCM Tiguan has had no problems at all, it has the same 200bhp 2.0TSI. Service the car religiously and it's approaching 50,000 miles. Also have friends, with the 2.0T (200 & 170 bhp) and the 2.0TDI all around the same age and also have no problems. From what I understand a lot of the problems experienced in the Tiguans are from people not servicing their cars as they should. Not saying that is your friends case. It has held up better than my Forester did when it was similar mileage and age.

I had one and it had a alternator problem but that was it, and it wasn't really a big issue and the company ended up fixing it. Had it for almost a year before I sold it and the owner got in an accident recently back in may, he got it fixed and there are no issues so far, still operating as it did when it came out of the showroom (I drove in it yesterday). Its the 2.0 model full time 4x4 PCS. He services religiously

Glad to hear bro, but she services rigorously ... and like I said everytime we in VW someone is in there cussing. Sorry but I could never advise anyone to gamble with their 300K on this car...

Also see this thread as an example about the rubbish plastic intake manifold: http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26092

Not making any of this up.

For me, if I'm buying new for 5x whatever the vehicle costs everywhere else in the world, I need to know it will have no issues, no risks ...

I wonder if the ones we getting coming with running lights. Nissan needs t know their place though, who would buy a 200k symphy, when the same company (Neal and Massy) basically giving away Elantras (not sure of the prices but I'm sure they have a trim for under 190k, I can tell because of the amount of Elantras with 20" chrome rims and badly directed HIDs already, sad but true.) Also you could get a fully loaded (only trim) cerato for 180. Only thing is you don't get a sunroof but it's still loaded with features. They gonna have to come good with features with the trims we are getting to justify that price.

The Nissan fugly car syndrome is due to their alliance with Renault.

Take the Tiida (Versa) as an example, its the Clio's sibling.

Speaking with a Nissan rep about the quashqai (sp)

Seems they bring a 2wd 1.5l crossover and the only "option" you have are to buy one of the different "specs" (not trims) which basically boils down to leather seats and a sunroof or no.

Everything else must be ordered, even if you want a 4wd option you must "special order it".

Is Neal and massy/ Nissan really serious about being competitive I'm the local market or is it just a "let the brand sell itself sort of thing?

The Sylphy was always an ugly ass car not worth the money. Now it's just an uglier ass car not worth the money.

Since I AM 'the guy' you so ineloquently refer to, I must advise you that we're both right. The 2013 Almera is as indicated in the links below.

http://www.netcarshow.com/nissan/2013-almera/

http://www.conceptcarz.com/z21787/Nissan-Almera.aspx

Also, it seems Nissan may have shed the Almera/Bluebird/Sylphy (based on market) combined model description.

The model you've shown is also called the Pulsar/Sentra depending on the market.

http://www.netcarshow.com/nissan/2013-sentra/

As far as looks go, at least they copied the USDM Altima for this model and NOT the awful N/P alliance designs like the Versa.

Oh I didn't see the trunk, that sucks, but the problem is reliability, won't someone be scared to buy a vehicle like that knowing its a euro SUV which is like almost double the change you're taking lol. I guess if the company actually service the vehicles you would be fine but it's still so uncertain. I never had dealings with Battoo brothers though so I don't know how their service is, plus the skoda Octavia seems to be in more and more garages recently so I guess the skoda brand is good. But still a Skoda SUV seems like a risk.

Sub-compact and/or Mid-sized SUVs/CUVs were never intended to carry much in the boot.

With the exception of the X-Trail and Santa Fe/Sorento, the Grand Vitara, RAV 4, Tucson/Sportage are small and to my shock the Tiguan and ASX are tiny.
