I'd say just take back your car, wait a few weeks, then do it yourself. Or hire someone that specifically does finishing if you don't have the time nor want to do it yourself.

I think it's best I do it in my spare time yes. Vehicle ain't paint yet though.

Will attend to it during my vacation

Good idea. If you need advice at that time, you know where to ask.

Cadance, what are your thoughts on Mirror Glaze Synthetic Sealant 2.0 as compared to #7 Showcar glaze topped with #26 wax?

Really two different combinations here, first option will give you high surface gloss with a little more water beading action and the second combination would offer you a concour finish with an optical clarity of 10/10 especially on dark paint finishes. It's really synthetic vs carnauba...a personal option i would say.

Hmmm, synthetic vs natural is always a preference. Cadence, I must ask though, how you know #7 and #26 is perfect optical clarity? Is the Meguiar's #26 really rated at 100% clarity? And will that still be maintained if you use a glaze under it?

Also, I guess you agree then that the expensive waxes that claim to be 'more refined with better optical clarity' are just not worth it?

I not saying you're wrong eh. I'm asking and willing to find out. But in my experience, there is a bit of a difference. Even if it's a small difference.

Mother's I've used. Works well. Need a drill, and I'd advise you leave the bonnet open and tape up around the lights well.
Meguiar's kit I've not used, but the Plast-X in it ain't too bad.

^I have both restoration kits. The mothers is muchhh better IMO, gives faster results.

Got home early today and gave the car some cleaning, Shining Monkey car wash and Meguiars Ultimate Quick wax.

I'm looking for a new car wash, that is available locally. So far I have used; Shining Monkey car wash, Meguiars (gold class, ultimate wash and wax, deep crystal and nxt), Mothers California gold and Turtle wax.

What other options are there? Out of all I have used I really like the Shining Monkey the most, but I would like to try something new.

The AG is quite slippery. If you're one of those that likes to see a lot of foam though, it won't be your best bet. I always keep this shampoo in my set though.
The Meguiar's Gold Class isn't bad, but requires a lot more product per bucket for a good mix (at least for what I like), so isn't really much cheaper, but is a good all round option.

See review from AutoGeek's site #26- Optical impact category—perfect 10. Long-lasting protection—perfect 10. Ease and swiftness of application—perfect 10. Value—perfect 10. Total satisfaction? You guessed it—perfect 10!
I have seen this product used on many vintage cars in carshows in the US. Now its my opinion, but based on many professional detailers eg. ACE Customs in West Palm Beach Florida, its certainly a great product. The #7 produces one of the deepest warm reflections I have personally seen to date. My take on more expensive waxes- hard to tell difference with naked eyes, need "truth of light" to compare paint finishing and for the most part a few coats of wax a year eg. #26 / Ultimate Wax is better than any super expensive wax that you would apply once for the year based on longevity claims etc!

Note- Above information based on my opinions and references, no lab testing or manufacturer endorsed my findings.

Cool. I do indeed have both the #7 and #26 myself. Just wondering if you did any testing, or had testing documents to support the optical clarity, because then it would definitely make some of the more expensive waxes look stupid. I notice they say Optical Impact there, and not clarity, so I guess there's a difference.
In any event, these are indeed easy to use and produce a great finish. For my personal preference I guess I've found a few other things that work well for me depending on color and beading preference.
Good to always have many opinions though!
