Anyone ever used the cheaper rotary buffers such as the Kawasaki 840581 or ATD-10511? These seem to have great reviews and compare to dewalt.

I need a rotary for very intermittent use (mainly cutting on glass and to remove sanding scratches that my GG6 may not be able to), and don't want to spend much as the Griot's will do 90% of the work. I don't think I'd need a dewalt/makita/flex to do that, or do I?

Why stick to one brand? Just get what works for what you need to get done. Don't need to do things in the steps one manufacturer sells.
If you're sure it works for you though, have fun..but just saying explore all options.

Silent : how you figure you really need a rotary? Have you been through many grades of chemicals on the DA?
I have a pneumatic rotary that's still new because I've never actually needed it since I bought it.

nemesis, it's mainly to restore glass which I can't afford to replace. The DA may do it, but it took several hours to get results. For paintwork, the Griot's DA is fine enough. The reviews on the ATD rotary seem to be good enough to try it out. I don't want to get a more expensive unit because after the glass work, I really may not use it.

So I visited advanced performance concepts yesterday for some smartwax products. I'd recommend them just by the interaction with the manager. Great guy to deal with and really knows his stuff. Will post a pic later of a vehicle that gonna get some smartwax treatment.

AG real wukkin dere boy. Any reason you favor EGP over HDwax on the black?
You're using the new SRP btw?
Ever tested it with no coating above to see how it lasts? It really is better than the previous in durability.

After pioneer review of hd I'm s bit reluctant to do it lol

First time I'm using ag. I believe Karim used it on my civic before put it was a champion white

I tried the egp after some reviews online and some persons here recommended it...

I'm really pleased tho

How long did you leave the EGP on to cure? Looks like you used a lot.

About half hour...took lunch while it was curing.

Actually I didn't. Just a couple drops on the pad.

From the previous question. It's the new srp

Think it was about $600, got it from Glenns.

$95usd online, didn't make sense bringing that in.

Going to wash, SRP, EGP , wait 24 hours and then pinnacle.

Depending on the time you finish the EGP you don't need to wait 24hrs to wax. 3hrs is fine. The EGP bottle I believe recommends 45mins cure time....and well, a few hrs should be fine after that for layering on top a sealant. $600tt not bad for the pinnacle wax at all. Make sure to take pics of the end result. I expect it should be good.

trvs : if you use a lot of EGP it actually does get a bit difficult to remove and doesn't add anything.. using less is better.

Aaron if you want to try the HDwax you can have from mine to see if you prefer the finish. I've had similar experience to Pioneer with it on 2 vehicles, and then it was perfect on others, so you never know. The finish is superb when it comes out right though. And the water repulsion is still the best.

I'm looking for Meguiars D101 or D103 all purpose cleaners. Anyone know where has it available? Or can you recommend something similar?

Thanks.
