No boy Rory, the mgw and tare aren't always correct or a true reflection of a vehicle's maximum carrying capacity...and especially so here in T&T where the lic off' doesn't quite get the figures right. Like the hp rating on the cert copy...ever see what they put for the Chev 350s? 15.7hp, 21hp, 110hp...they have no clue sometimes. But the spring rate and tensile strength on many of the Japanese pickups and 3ton trucks is very high. Sometimes so much so that the chassis in them ends up twisting or breaking before the springs bottom out.
The rear ends on them is where they fall short...i'll post up a vid I have of a year old Navaralala that I repair regularly, showing some mad play in the rear differential.
