i'll still say to encourage and not to discourage. to try to bring out the best in someone transfers into better craftsmanship.
I hear ya buddy, but I just to fed up of the 'it go wuk so' mentality. You say craftsmanship, but most of those fellas too lazy to take the time to improve. Instead we have the 'is I do it so it bess' attitude. How can u inspire a man to improve when him and his peers are already impressed with mediocrity?
Finally, you have the 'I issa poor man, why you fightin me dong for?' argument. Lack of funds should never be justification for doing rubbish, but yet it is. I had a car that sat for 5 years in the garage because we simply could not afford the crank, rods etc from the UK for the engine.....yeah we could have stuffed a cheap engine in the car, but we wanted to maintain a standard.....not butcher a rare car.....so the car waited until finances improved.....
Just today a friend and I were discussing investing in a compressor, gun, protective gear etc and building a paint both when my house is done, simply because you cannot count on some of these twats to even rub down and repaint a simple car bonnet....
If those guys fraid the ole talk, then their skin need some thickening, and they really need to review their own work...
