Its a lot of hard work.
To remove the existing wax/polish you should use a pre-wax cleaner. A nice one is the Sonax Premium Class Paint Cleaner or the AutoGLym Highm Defination Cleanser. These products will chemically remove the existing wax/polish on the surface so you can get a nice clean start.
