Price went up by 4K after VAT was reduced ... I smell a rat.

So after VAT drop the car price rose by $11375 for no apparent reason.

Its a raised polo essentially. Cousin had one in Grenada bought new from the firm but was a lemon so now she hates vw.

Ohh. Like the XV is to the Impreza.
Outback is to the Legacy.
That super for a 1.6T kinda suspect though..

A VW rep told me about this last time I was there.

Not seeing any 1.6t petrol engines for it tho. Or any 1.6t petrol VAG engines for that matter. It's probably a 1.2t or 1.4t petrol.
The 1.6 were tdi engines as far as I've read.

Edit : there's a 1.6 NA petrol engine version sold in South Africa. That would explain the super gas.

250k for a raised polo with a NA engine? They gonna need all the luck in the world to sell that ... Will try to confirm some of the details for y'all.

Ok so found out its gonna sell for 199K with a 1.6 NA engine, nil dsg will come with traditional automatic. I was wrong on it being raised, jhonnieblue is correct its not raised ... both polo and cross polo have same ground clearance but the cross polo is about 20mm taller.

The main problem for me is the lack of a turbo ... 1.6 NA??? If people wanted a car with a 1.6 NA engine they could go buy a toyota or something ... Did the regular polo they used to bring in have a turbo?

Regular polo was a non turbo 1.4 .... I think the biggest problem is it's ugly and VW has a growing stain of unreliability locally. Cheap cars need to just work.

A friend bought a Creta and had a good look at it.
Extremely well equipped vehicle for the price, even has a better infotainment unit than the Tucson. Also very spacious.

Only thing I didn't like was the build quality, looked very cheap and noticed metal panels in the engine bay that should have welded held together with resin/epoxy. Still overall its not bad.

Could be selling off used cars from their rental division.

Would be careful ... heard of a higher rate of piston cracking in Jetta's from the used car department as renters mainly fill up with super.
