Generally Nissan over Suzuki but vitara over juke any day. Vitara nicer to look at and has 4wd but juke is a frog in 2wd only. Depends on what you want, besides, the juke is an aging design and the vitara out less than a year now.

The Vitara is probably the best value for money CUV on the market. You get good kit with the AllGrip model.

One weird thing that I found was the rear inner fender liners have a kind of fabric lining on the plastic, probably for noise attenuation. Dirt and mud sticks to the lining easily.

One issue that I have to take up with Lifestyle at the 5000km service is that I find the 1 to 2 upshift to be a bit hard under normal throttle application and in comparison to the higher gear upshifts.

For a 1.6L engine in that size of vehicle, it accelerates okay under full throttle application.

The only concern that I really have is with the fuel economy. But I want to give it some time before I finalize my opinion on that. I need to check the owner's manual to see what is the fuel capacity and check the odometer to see how far I go on a specified volume of fuel.

Rory a lot of new vehicles have that fabric material under the fenders. Seen in both front and back in some toyotas, nissans and even hyundais.

Went and look at the Vitara last weekend, should I be concerned as they are being manufactured in India?

Indian people can't assemble a car?

Lifestyle reprogrammed, or claimed they reprogrammed, the transmission control module at the 5000km service. So I am no longer experiencing the occasional hard 1-2 upshift.

The vitaras are built in Hungary, not India.

And we had that transmission issue with ours also.
It was re-programmed and the problem went away.

Actually...the m16a in the sx4 and the s-cross had been observed to be more fuel efficient than the m15a in the previous generation swift.

Also, the k-series engines are very good on gas.

The j20 is a guzzler.

We have a 4x2 new vitara and it is very fuel efficient (better than my civic which impressed me), the van is a very good buy when you compare the other options available and the price is good. No regrets or issues with the suv thus far

Before I reminded the CSR at the service department that the 5000km service was supposed to be free, she was charging me around $1,175 for the service.

Just for comparison, a 5000km service at TTTL for a 2014 Toyota Hilux cost $1,177.54 in April 2015, and the main thing TTTL did was change the oil.
