Lmaooo..organise financing for a test drive?? One like me, would have called my financial institution, let the sales rep hear from my loans officer that I've been approved for the vehicle loan of $xxx,000 and then walk out on him/her or ask for another rep..

ABA- was your experience with Ford in South?? I'm thinking about purchasing either a Hilux or a Ranger in the near future based on expert advice..now Toyota is Toyota eh, but I'm leaning towards the Ranger for its looks as well the rep in souths' service as compared to Toyota's, or the lack thereof..

Well it went somewhat like that. The approval was sent to SS. Soon after I got in contact with the rep from south. I had to call SS in pos and cancel.
Got a call from the rep in pos about ten minutes after and I told him why I cancelled and that I was buying from south. This idiot asking if the south guy did a better job than him. Neither of them had to do much. I saw the car a month earlier and told him I'll contact him in a month because I'm buying the car.
His excuse was that they didn't have a car available to test at that time. If that was true I would have accepted that and still buy the car because when I picked up my car was the first time I drove one.

On a side note, i'd really like to know what car dealerships I can go to in Trinidad to actually get good after sales service. The only place i've heard consistent good reviews on is lifestyle motors, Ansa Mcal seems to be so so. I just had a horrible experience in servicing a mercedes c180 this past thursday with Sterling Motors and would NEVER recommend Sterling to anyone. Maybe other people have had a different experience with their service but i'm totally dissatisfied. Cheers

While I would not say my experiences with Sterling is"Horrible" it is enough for me to investigate other 'service' providers and maybe a change of brand....gotta love that benz feel though...

After having to change engine mounts at 50K kms amongst other things, i'm not loving that benz feel like you are. I'm looking for a BMW or Porsche feel now. Any BMW experiences anyone?

Curious as to what other things you had to change other than the engine mounts ?

This. Lols well done, pal..man still asking stupid questions..now I'll want to do a test drive to see how much of a dead horse the 2.5 Hilux really is, as compared to the 3.0 and the Ranger's 2.2..the rep in Ford was eager and ready to organise a test drive, but I opted to wait till a little closer to my purchase date..whereas with 'The world's number one brand', I requested through their website some information on the 2.5 and 3.0 manual 4x4 Lux..a sales rep called a few days after telling me her name and how she'll email the info to me..asof two weeks ago..I'm still waiting..  tears oui..now this isn't a complete turn-off because like we say time and time again..the vehicles sell and speak for themselves..but if your pre-sale behaviour leaves much to be desired..you really expect me to stick around to see you post-sale??

Oxonian,my previous car was a three series and then we decided t change....i kept if for five years with very little going wrong.I believe the only major problem was a blown IC for the back glass and a water pump.Other than that the car was flawless.Actually we are thinking of going back to BMW as from our experience the workmanship is benchmark. While sterling have always done their servicing job adequately....there's always this incremental doubt in your mind....

The attitude of sales reps in the New Automotive Sales Industry is very poor at least with most of them. Time to replace a 4+ yr old car and is only high horse riding (unts in them showroom. The experience I had in Ford, Chevy, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda and VW showrooms was good. My experience with reps selling Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Audi, BMW and Benz left more to be desired. From the initial look of things, those brands that selling good starting to slack off in customer service delivery. There's a Chevy rep named Carlos, let me tell you, I've never seen a guy so enthusiastic about selling a vehicle before. His attitude towards his job shows that selling cars was a lifelong dream. When you go Toyota, is either you buying or not. If not, you get the shaft and they move on.

Yep got the same impression from Toyota, when to test drive the corolla, the sales rep was like a driving instructor telling my wife what to do, as though it was driving lessons we came for, also inquired about other models and price however the sales rep wasn't too keen on answering questions, guess what I ran out of there........

So it's a general trend with Toyota then..either you buy our cars or gtfo of our showroom..that has to stop..i truly hope that somewhere in the land of Trinidad and Tobago..there's a Toyota sales rep reading this thread..and weeping silently, in repentance..

Am I the only one who doesn't want to speak to a sales rep when I enter a showroom.....I honestly am happier looking at the vehicle without someone pestering me and giving me specs or telling me about the options. .. Only want to talk to them after to find out more information.
I know what I'm looking for before I get there just need clarification on extras and price

not with standing the reviews...I drove both and Honda's build quality, ride quality, materials used [last model's leather was sheit, seems to be improved now], rear passenger leg room, among others is just far superior than the sonata. The sonata has a little more rear head room[feels like it] and a greater feature set[gimmicks to me], but on the road the accord just feels a little tighter and better to sit in. The sonata is a great car but ah eh paying more than 300k for it.
