Its a tiered tax with the higher the cc size the more the charge per cc
I think 2.0L engines carry a MVT of around 40 to 50K
gets even worse for 2.5 and higher.

But the MV tax on my 1.5 Lancer was $7,495. 1
1.4l should be less if its rated according to displacement.

MVT on the 1.4TSI Jetta is $6,950 actually.

drchaos u need to go look back at your Pro-forma invoice. If u did pay $9,000....then u should apply for your credit

^^lol gotta love it. that mini cooper touching bmw 316 i territory though....dont think it will win that fight...we love sedans down here so that price hike may hurt mini sales...even if it is owned by bmw...

not often you can buy the world car of the year in Trinidad for 290K.....which we could have got the led lights for that price though....

Couldn't agree more.

The Audis in Trinidad are generally more competitive against their rivals. Look at the Q5 vs X3. The Q5 Ambition 2.0T is at 495k and the X3 xdrive 20i is around 595k. Not only is the Q5 similarly equipped but it has a lot more power. Then if you actually fairly match the X3 with the xdrive28i which is around 690k I'm pretty sure Audi would be able to bring the 3.0T Prestige for that price. It has baffled me why ANSA is off with their luxury car pricing.

Well it went the wrong way. Q5 is now 560 and X3 585k. So people got their wish, they're now close in pricing. Sad it is.

Well that's not great news! You sure the $560k isn't just for the Prestige?

That seemingly would have to be for the Fully Loaded. The base wasn't like 190 and the fully loaded 210? I cant see the base moving so much.

Yes, the BMW sdrive 20i is 545k and the xdrive 20i is 575k. Very well equipped, however I find the pricing should be synonymous with the 28i model especially as the macans have joined the competition at 675k base for 2.0L. Lifestyle motors is on point

You might be surprised at the level of rape by Japanese car dealers compared to European. It's about the same and dependent on the cost of the car, not by who makes it.
